Apple Studios' latest team-up project with Snatch helmer Guy Ritchie, Fountain of Youth, is already the talk of the town and now a second trailer of the upcoming adventure treasure hunt film has caused another round of social media tumult. With a star-studded cast and a plot based on mythological elements, the movie promises to deliver intense action-packed drama and mystery-solving.
Fountain of Youth will be a movie of quest - a crazy mission that sends a man named Luke Purdue (John Krasinski portrays the part) down a dangerous track to get hold of the mysterious epitome of immortality. The latest two and a half minute long clip has dropped glimpses of how Luke gets his estranged sibling Charlotte (Natalie Portman) involved in this quest and almost get themselves in big trouble.
Apple TV drops second trailer of Guy Ritchie's Fountain of Youth
The newest trailer of Fountain of Youth opens with John Krasinski’s Luke on the run as he is chased down by armed men through the streets and marketplaces.
On the other hand, Charlotte (Luke's sister) is being questioned by officials in a 'high-profile' museum and when asked about her brother's involvement in a series of art thefts, she seems to be totally surprised and her obvious reply is:
"That he did not mention."
It seems like Luke's thirst for a treasure hunt has got him indirectly involved in a string of dangerous heists and it might land him in prison. Ready to take the risk and knowing (from his father's words) that the reward always lies 'in the journey,' Luke carries on. The Fountain of Youth is what he aims for and in the process he has to decipher hidden clues from paintings of six very famous artists (probably the ones he stole on his heist).
Luke is moving ahead with something big his dad started years back and when asked by Charlotte about what does he expect to earn from this quest, his reply sums it up:
"I want dad to get his recognition."
What seems like a magical historical artifact with immense potential, is not just an object of immortality but something much more dangerous. As the trailer suggests, the Fountain of Youth has been kept hidden over thousands of years by intellectuals and influential people for a certain reason.
So, finding a way to it will not be an easy task for Luke and Charlotte. A woman named Esme (Eiza Gonzalez) has also got good screen time in the latest trailer and it's evident that her character's part will be pivotal on the quest for finding the Fountain of Youth.
Fountain of Youth will be available for streaming on Apple TV+ starting May 23, 2025.
