“Friendships ebb and flow” - Leah Remini shares Jennifer Lopez friendship update

In a recent interview with Entertainment News, actress Leah Remini revealed that her long-time friend Jennifer Lopez was supportive after Remini separated from her husband, Angelo Pagan, in 2024 following 21 years of marriage.

Remini finalized her divorce from Pagan in October of last year. The actress revealed that although she and Lopez do not exchange messages daily, they share a close friendship and do check on each other.

Remini told US Weekly in an interview on June 4:

“Sometimes you don’t talk to people every day like you used to, but that doesn’t mean the love is lost. Friendships ebb and flow. That doesn’t mean we’re at odds.”

Remini disclosed that she and Lopez exchanged kind and encouraging messages immediately following the divorce.

"Right after the divorce, we’d text each other loving messages of support." Remini revealed in an interview with US Weekly.

Remini further expressed that she loves her friends, even though each person is on their own journey and people do sometimes outgrow each other.

“I cherish my friendships and not everybody is meant to be in your life in the way that they were. When you grow out of that person that you were, that doesn’t mean that you are at odds with them." Remini explained

About Jennifer Lopez and Leah Remini's friendship

Jennifer Lopez met Leah Remini at a red carpet premiere in 2004. Lopez revealed in an interview with Entertainment Tonight in 2018 that there was instant chemistry between her and Remini. In the same interview, Remini shared that she was hoping Lopez 'could be dumb.'

In 2008, Remini and her husband, Angelo Pagan, spoke to People about being godparents to Jennifer Lopez's twins, Max and Emme.

“We’re asking for an audition for godparent roles." Remini joked. "Not sure whether it entails that we have to sing, dance, recite a monologue, but we’re ready!”

After that, Lopez and Remini were often seen together at various events, including each other's birthdays, and they supported each other in new ventures and projects.

In the year 2018, Jennifer Lopez and Remini acted together in the movie Second Act.

During an episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, the Ain't Your Mama singer revealed that their friendship is unique and special.

“I knew that if we could capture our real honesty, our real love, our real humor [in the film], then that would be something really entertaining and fun for everybody to see.”

In 2022, Jennifer Lopez married Ben Affleck in Las Vegas in front of friends and family. Remini did not attend the wedding, sparking rumors of a possible feud between the two. A source told People in 2024 that Remini's absence made Lopez angry, and she cut ties with her.

However, after multiple reports of a possible feud, Remini revealed that the only reason she had to skip her dear friend Lopez's big day was that she had to send her 20-year-old daughter, Sofia Pagan, to college.

While Lopez and Remini never addressed the speculations of their feud in public, the actress's recent comment surely provides clarity on the situation.
