LeBron James was in New York City to attend the Fanatics Fest on Saturday, June 21, 2025. The NBA star reached the venue with his team but was met with disrespectful comments from some haters.

In a video obtained by TMZ, King James is seen walking with his security while a person starts yelling at him. As one of the guards seemingly asks someone from the crowd to maintain a distance, an unidentified man is heard saying,

“You know you don’t do that sh*t, man. You don’t do that sh*t unless you're named DJ Khaled, DJ Khaled’s kids, or someone else. You know you don’t do it, that’s how you are, LeBron. You don’t even do it in Paris…”

As seen in the TMZ video, the hecklers started booing LeBron James before asking him to get out of New York while name-calling him. One of them continued shouting at the Lakers star:

“Get out of here, LeBron. Go back to L.A. Don’t come to New York [...] LeBum! LeBum! You’ll never beat Jordan [...] You’ll never beat Jordan, my [...] or Kobe, you bum [...] Get the f*ck out of here.”

LBJ remained unfazed by the naysayers despite receiving nasty shouts. While the haters were persistent with their comments, they kept their outbursts verbal.

Later during the night, LeBron James was seen meeting Kai Cenat. Both were a part of The Shop panel, which also featured Tom Brady, Victor Wembanyama, and Maverick Carter.

Internet reacts to LeBron James getting heckled in New York City

NBA’s all-time leading scorer recently faced boos during his New York City visit, an incident that was captured in a video obtained by TMZ. The clip was later reposted by New York Basketball (@NBA_NewYork) on X and fetched lots of reactions on the platform.

“Bron dropping 81 next time he comes to the garden,” a user predicted.
“it's so funny knowing he would never say that to lebron's face if nobody else was around,” another user pointed out.
“A bunch of people who never witnessed a championship lm*ao,” someone dissed the hecklers.
“Knicks fans always find a way to make themselves look bad,” another one added.

A user highlighted,

“People talk sh*t about Eagles fans. Knicks fans are savages. 😂”

Another user continued trolling,

“NYers are the GOAT fanbase and know ball better than almost any other fanbase.”

Someone claimed,

“Chose Miami. His fault. It was right there for him.”

Another one defended the other Knicks fans and New Yorkers,

“Ngl they don’t represent New York, New York Love bron.”

For those unaware, many consider LeBron James as one of the greatest basketball players of all time. He has the most NBA All-Star selections and appearances — 21 and 20 (missing a game in 2025), respectively. At the same time, LeBron has four championship rings with three different teams — the Miami Heat, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Los Angeles Lakers.

In his last two games versus the Knicks, LeBron James scored 31 and 33 points, respectively, while the Lakers won both times. Throughout 22 seasons, LBJ has averaged 26.7 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 7.4 assists against the New York-based team in 61 regular season games. Coincidentally, his stats against Knicks mirror his NBA career average of 27.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 7.4 assists per game.
