Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz are being scrutinized after posting a romantic video on Instagram that fans are reading as a dig at his family, most notably parents Victoria and David Beckham.

The football legend’s 26-year-old son shared a video of him and Nicola, taking an early morning motorbike ride around Los Angeles.

"My whole world x I will love you forever x I always choose you baby x you’re the most amazing person i know xx me and you forever baby." He wrote in the caption.

While some were touched by the couple’s public show of affection, others criticised them and branded the move immature amidst the fallout in Beckham’s family. Critical comments overwhelmed the post, including from one user who simply wrote:

Others pointed out how Brooklyn Beckham owed everything to his family's name and wealth, and implied that they wouldn't have met if not for his family's rich background.

While most of the comments criticized Brooklyn's actions, there were few which wished well for the couple, stating the fact that both sides are at fault when it comes to his separation from the family.

The rift seems to stem from wider family dynamics and differences of opinion, beginning with Brooklyn and Nicola’s 2022 wedding. Tensions rose after Peltz declined to wear a dress designed by her mother-in-law Victoria Beckham. Addressing the rumors, Peltz later told Sunday Times,

"But the real truth is, I really, really wanted to wear it and I thought it was so beautiful that Brooklyn's mom got to make that for me!..."
