Allen Iverson, 49, opens up about sharing a great bond with Shaquille O'Neal, 53. The NBA legend became visibly emotional while discussing his deep bond with his fellow basketball mate.

In the latest exclusive conversation with People, posted on June 4, Iverson delved into his and O'Neal's relationship and called him "an emotional guy."

Allen and Shaquille's friendship has evolved over the years. From playing at the basketball court, Shaquille was appointed as president, and Allen was appointed as vice president of Reebok's basketball division in October 2023.

Iverson has known his friend, O'Neal, for years now. Truly understanding the kind of person Shaquille is, Allen shared how his Reebok partner does not like to show his emotions.

With teary eyes, he further expressed his affection, sharing,

"I love him so much. I don't want to be up here crying and s---, you know what I mean? I just love him.

Allen Iverson continued admiring his dear mate, calling him his,

"big brother, a mentor and just everything you're supposed to be as a man."

He also chimed in:

"I love his family. I love how he raised his kids. I learned from him, you know what I mean? He's just a beautiful guy...I can't talk about him."

Allen's candid expression of love and emotion underscores the depth of mutual respect he and Shaquille share. It also offers a tiny sneak peek at these celebrated figures' personal connections.

During the recent conversation, Iverson also grabbed the opportunity to acknowledge Reebok's contributions to his and his family's lives.

Counting his blessings and expressing his gratitude, he added:

"I know what Reebok did for me. I know what Reebok did for my family. I know what Reebok did for the culture. I know how Reebok blessed me and gave me a chance. And for me to give back is only right."

In 1996, the former basketball shooting guard released his first signature shoe, the Reebok Question, during his initial NBA season with the Philadelphia 76ers. This collection is regarded as one of the most celebrated basketball sneakers of all time.
