Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck may be divorced, but their blended family remain a strong bridge between them.

Per an exclusive insider to People, things between the former couple are going well, revealing:

"Even though they’re not together anymore, they’ve stayed on friendly terms."

The affable bond between the exes has extended to their kids.

Ben Affleck is father to Violet (19), Seraphina (16), and Samuel (13), with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner. Jennifer Lopez shares 17-year-old twins Max and Emme with ex-husband Marc Anthony.

The insider continued:

“The kids are still really close. They have the same groups of friends, they see each other and they talk all the time. They make sure the kids know they get along."

The source added:

"The most important thing to both of them is raising their kids in a supportive environment, so they plan to stay in each other’s lives.”

Meanwhile, Jennifer Lopez's side echoes the same sentiment, praising the pop star-actress' parenting.

“She’s a great mom and always gave Ben’s kids the same love. Even though her contact with Ben is now more sporadic, they make sure the kids can spend time together whenever they want.”

"Spectacular": Ben Affleck has high praise for ex-wife Jennifer Lopez

The couple’s long history makes their ability to co-parent in harmony all the more notable.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck first dated in 2002 after costarring in Gigli, and got engaged later that year. Then, they split in 2004.

The two reunited in 2021, married in 2022, and finalized their divorce in January 2025.

Jennifer Lopez herself reflected on resilience earlier this year, telling El País last May:

“I said, ‘I promise you, this is a difficult time, but you’re going to see that I’ll come out the other side stronger and better. That gives me a great sense of peace in my life.”

The Unstoppable star went on to say that she's "happier" and "a step further" in her life at the moment.

“I’m proud of myself for that and I’m proud that I was able to navigate my children through difficult times, that they’re stronger and better because of it. So, it’s a great time to go out there and dance and sing and have a good time with everybody."

Ben Affleck himself spoke warmly of his ex-wife and kids. In an exclusive chat with Entertainment Tonight in April, during the premiere of The Accountant 2, he shared:

“It’s a great night. The kids are here, Jen’s kids are here. I’m very, very excited. I’m proud of the movie, I love the movie and I love when all the kids come out. It’s really fun, it’s exciting.”

The host then commended the attendance of Affleck and Lopez's children, as well as the actor "continuing those relationships." The movie star answered:

“Listen, I don’t read the stuff online much, and sometimes I get the sense that people perpetuate this idea of … they wanna find something negative to talk about."

He continued:

“For the record, Jennifer Lopez is spectacular, great to my kids, great ongoing relationship with them. I love her kids. They’re wonderful. She’s [an] enormously important, tremendous person of a lot of integrity who I adore and am grateful to.”
