Jake and Romy Reiner shared an update in the aftermath of their parents' deaths.
Six days after issuing their first official statement, Rob Reiner and Michele Reiner's children have broken their silence anew through a representative, offering an update on the siblings.
"Jake and Romy Reiner remain grateful for the outpouring of love and support they have received. They will share information about a memorial service honoring their parents at a later date."

The update comes after a reported gathering of friends at Albert Brooks' home last week, and days after Jake and Romy Reiner released a joint statement following the family tragedy.
"Words cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we are experiencing every moment of the day. The horrific and devastating loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, is something that no one should ever experience. They weren't just our parents; they were our best friends."
The siblings also expressed their gratitude to those who reached out to support them during this dark period of their lives.
"We are grateful for the outpouring of condolences, kindness, and support we have received not only from family and friends but people from all walks of life. We now ask for respect and privacy, for speculation to be tempered with compassion and humanity, and for our parents to be remembered for the incredible lives they lived and the love they gave."
Romy Reiner "has been scared" of brother Nick for years
Romy Reiner found her father Rob Reiner's lifeless body at his home in Los Angeles on Dec. 14. She reportedly fled the scene, not knowing that her mother, Michele Singer Reiner, was also dead inside the house.
Authorities later identified the couple, with the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office revealing in a press release that Rob and Michele were slain in the "early morning hours."
Jake and Romy Reiner's brother, Nick Reiner, was later apprehended by the LAPD on suspicion of murder. He was officially charged with two counts of first-degree murder on Dec. 16.
On Dec. 17, he made his first court appearance clad in a blue anti-suicide smock and shackles on his hands and feet.
Nick Reiner's first arraignment will take place on Jan. 7, 2026.

According to an insider close to the family, Romy Reiner "lived in fear" of her brother, Nick, for years, and was opposed to the idea of him living near their parents. The source told the Daily Mail on Dec. 21:
"It feels like Romy has been scared of Nick since she was a child. Even before his drug addiction, his outbursts were frightening because they seemed to come out of nowhere. She tried to stay out of his way as much as she could but it wasn’t easy."

Jake and Romy Reiner shared the same feelings of worry for their parents, per the insider. This made the two siblings grow closer as they could confide in each other without burdening their parents.
"She didn't even like the idea of him living across the street from her. But she knew they moved him in so they could keep a close eye on him and give him a roof over his head. There were plenty of times when Romy would be upset with Nick, and naturally that made her much closer to Jake."
