Jonathan Joss, known for voicing John Redcorn on King of the Hill, died on June 1, 2025. He was 59 years old. Joss was shot and killed in San Antonio, Texas.

Jonathan was killed on June 1, 2025, near his home in San Antonio. Police found him lying near the street with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to People Magazine in a report published on August 4, 2025.
A neighbor, Sigfredo Ceja Alvarez, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. Police said Alvarez admitted to the shooting. He was later released on a $200,000 bond.
Joss’ husband, Tristan Kern de Gonzales, called the murder a hate crime. He said the couple had faced harassment and homophobic slurs. The San Antonio Police first said the crime was not related to Joss' s*xual orientation, but the police chief later changed that statement during a press conference.

Jonathan was known for his role as John Redcorn. He also played Chief Ken Hotate in Parks and Recreation. His other work included roles in Tulsa King, Ray Donovan, and True Grit.
