Singer and songwriter Chris Janson shared a health update on his son, Jesse. The singer is married to Kelly Lynn, with whom he shares two children, Jesse Bo Janson and Georgia Janson. According to a report by Taste of Country, Lynn has two kids from her previous marriage, and Chris thinks of them as his bonus children.

In a recent Instagram post, the singer shared that Jesse met with a “freak accident” while fishing. Sharing the carousel with a photo of his son’s injured palm, he wrote:

“Well, a fun day on the water suddenly turned into a parent’s nightmare. Jesse got triple stuck with the last fish he caught. He’s caught and handled more fish than I can count. This was one of those freak accidents.”

Chris Janson went on:

“After cutting it out & a few hrs of extreme pain he’s feeling better. He’s on antibiotics now, and most of the stinging has stopped. It’s the worst feeling to witness your boy hurting.”

The post before this showed the father-son duo on a boat getting ready for the fishing adventure. Jesse was also seen smiling at the camera with a fish in his hand. The carousel was captioned:

“It was a Good day being Jesse’s boat captain. Catching fish. Off to Tulsa tomorrow.”

On various occasions, Jesse was seen accompanying his father on stage during the performances. During an interview with Cody Allen earlier this year, Chris Janson said he loved his kids and would do anything for them. Despite not being an active sports lover, he took an interest in his daughter’s softball lessons.

Chris Janson said his son wants to join his band

Speaking of Georgia, Chris Janson said she was a queen, and when she took an interest in softball, he thought it could either go one way or the other. Although she never played sports, he said she was a “real boss” at the game. He mentioned his son, saying:

“My little Jesse, our youngest, he is singing a lot now, you know, with me. He told me the other day he said, he was dead serious now, he said, ‘At any point you are ready to let me join your band, I will drop everything and do it.’”

Chris Janson was amazed by it and jokingly told Jesse he was hired. Cody Allen asked him what kind of dad he was. Chris said he was the type of parent who couldn’t stay quiet during his kids’ games if he saw a bad call.

He shared a story from the previous year when he was at a baseball game and disagreed with a call made by the umpire. Kelly felt embarrassed, but Chris stood up and spoke out anyway. The umpire ended up changing the call.

Chris Janson explained that even though there are signs at ballparks now reminding people that everyone makes mistakes, he couldn’t help reacting as a parent. He also mentioned that since he played sports as a kid, he always disliked unfair calls. That’s why he reacted that way.
