Tommy Fleetwood secured a career-defining win yesterday when he clinched the FedEx Cup. Fleetwood also won the PGA Tour Championship on the same day after defeating Patrick Cantlay. He was cheered on by his stepson, from his marriage to Clare Fleetwood. Oscar Craig, who is eighteen years old, was seen embracing Tommy Fleetwood as he lifted the coveted Championship trophy.

Tommy Fleetwood, who is married to Clare Fleetwood, his manager, released a statement on Sunday reflecting on his long-awaited victory. He said:

“There's a ton of feelings and I think it doesn't sink in straight away. Of course, I've won plenty of tournaments before, I still don't feel like I've won my fair share, but this one it seems like it's taken a long time and I think this story has been building for so long. Yeah, there's a lot of mixed emotions. I think I'm very proud of the qualities I've had to show in recent weeks to keep coming back. Very relieved that it's done, that I've got this first win and I can move on and hopefully win many more."

He further added:

"Like I've always said, I don't really dream of winning one, I feel like I want to win multiple and plenty, but to do that, you've got to win the first one. And also, you know, it's kind of like, ah, the story was great, wasn't it?”

Tommy Fleetwood married Clare Fleetwood in December 2017 after dating for two years. They initially kept their relationship private and only announced it when they became engaged. The couple welcomed their first and only child, Franklin Fleetwood, in September of the same year.

According to Sky Ports, Tommy Fleetwood withdrew from the British Masters during the birth of his son so he could be there for his partner, even though he was leading the tournament. In a statement, he announced his decision saying:

"I wanted to give myself every chance of playing this week, but being there at the birth of your child is a special moment in anyone's life and I would not want to miss it. look forward to returning to playing soon and hopefully I can have a strong end to the season and compete for the Race to Dubai title."

Tommy Fleetwood later tweeted about his son's birth, writing:

"Fiancé, best friend, Agent, mother of my son, my hero! Thank you for this moment @ClareCraig ! I love you! 💙"

Clare Fleetwood, who is 23 years older than Tommy Fleetwood, was previously married to Andy Craig. Not much is known about their relationship, but the couple had two children during their marriage before divorcing later. Her children, Oscar and Mo, share a close bond with Fleetwood. In his 2024 appearance on the "Fore Play Pod" hosted by Daniel Rapaport, the golfer revealed more about his relationship with his stepsons. He said:

"No I think the whole family we are unbelievably close. There's Oscar and Mo, they are the two older ones, and then there is Frankie. It's funny cause, when people ask, so people that dont know, say do you have kids? and pretty much all the time I say, Yeah, three kids and yeah they go how old are they? 17 and 16 and six. And the you get the look. So obviously ..then I have to explain. The first two are stepkids, who i don't think as stepkids. I have been around a long time now, particularly Mo. I have been a parental figure to Mo since he was five. The relationship that we have ..we are so close. When the five of us are together it's always our safe space."

Both of Tommy Fleetwood's stepsons are emerging golfers in their own right. According to Golf Week, Tommy Fleetwood served as the caddie for his younger stepson, Oscar Craig, who was seen playing at the Saadiyat Beach Golf Club in Abu Dhabi for the Challenge Tour in April 2024. After his appearance in Abu Dhabi, the young golfer was also seen competing at the Scottish Challenge Tour in August last year. Regarding his performance and how he was inspired by Tommy Fleetwood, Oscar Craig said:

"I can’t wait - I’m really, really excited. It’s very different conditions wise to Abu Dhabi, but I feel like I’m preparing well. I remember very well everything that he [Tommy Fleetwood] was going through with me when he was on the bag, even just little things like reading the slopes on the green and from the fairway. I remember those things he did and am trying to put them into my game."

His other stepson, Mo Craig, is also a young golfer who played in the RAK World Junior Championship back in December 2024.
