Hulk Hogan reportedly suffered from weak heart, got tired easily and was put on oxygen in the final weeks before death

Professional wrestler Hulk Hogan died on July 24 at the age of 71. According to the BBC, the cause of his death is reported to be cardiac arrest. After first responders visited his Florida home following a call, he was taken to the Morton Plant Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Emergency responders attempted CPR while he was taken to the aid car. Following the news of his demise, Daily Mail published an exclusive report in which an insider said that Hogan was suffering from a weak heart during the last few days of his life. The insider told the outlet:

“He was suffering from shortness of breath, got tired easily, had lost a lot of weight and was on oxygen.”

The insider also shared that Hulk Hogan reached out to people during that time to reconcile with those he had fallen out with. The source said:

“He had a lot of scores to settle. Didn't want to leave anything unsaid.”

Tributes have been pouring in following the wrestler’s death. For instance, Sylvester Stallone posted a photo of them on Instagram expressing his sadness over Hulk Hogan’s passing, saying he met Hogan when the wrestler was 26 and was amazed by his talent.

Wrestler Sting also honored him, and wrote on Instagram:

"Can’t thank you enough for all that you did for me and for wrestling fans all over the world. I loved you and I will miss you." He concluded with the words: "My friend, Terry Bollea, RIP

Hulk Hogan looks back on his hobbies and being a family man

NBC News posted a 1991 interview with Hogan on YouTube, following the wrestler’s death. During the conversation, he commented on his stature, saying he was huge in elementary school. He said the girl who sat next to him in class asked if his head had always been that big. The WWE wrestler shared:

“And when I graduated from high school, I was 300 pounds of fat.”

Reflecting on his hobbies, Hulk Hogan said:

“I played baseball and then I was a musician. My mom was a music teacher, but it was like I like girls even though I was fat. And it was like I didn't have any dates until like the last part of my senior year. And that first date didn't go too well. So, it had this effect on me that I better get in shape.”

When asked if he ever knew he would be famous, Hulk Hogan said he had a feeling but didn’t know how big it would become. He explained that his success didn’t happen overnight and that he had to work hard to reach that point. Hogan was asked to talk about an unconventional act he did. He said:

“Crying over a TV show when my wife and kids don't even cry.”

The interviewer mentioned that since he was a family man, his wife might worry about him getting hurt in the ring. Hulk Hogan said she had seen him badly injured and was used to hearing him complain, but she didn’t take it too seriously because she knew he would always keep going.
