Broadcaster and former rapper Joe Budden is sharing his thoughts about Cardi B and Nicki Minaj’s online beef.
As seen in one of the clips from the podcast posted on the X account joebuddenclips/fanpage, at one point during the conversation, host Marc Larmont Hill said that, despite whatever was happening between the two rappers, they should not have brought in their kids in between.
Hill opined that making fun of people’s kids should be off-limits. Joe Budden also said some of what happened during the beef was funny. However, he weighed in saying:
“I do feel like certain women play at a different clip, like they get nasty. Like Michelle Obama says, ‘When they go low, we go high.’”
Joe Budden went on:
“I would feel like my karma is affected.”
Host Damona said she was concerned for Nicki Minaj. She said that although Minaj has dropped names like Roc Nation, she hasn’t provided any background information. Damona felt everything was “encrypted” and only a few people could understand what Minaj was talking about. She said:
“It doesn’t make sense to everybody else, right? But when you start talking about stuff like, ‘I am a prophetess and Jesus is going to do this, like, I am gonna send Jesus on you, right?’ That’s almost like getting like religious psychosis like sliding over there. That sounds like somebody need to see if she is okay, like that’s how I feel it.”
Joe Budden, Damona, and Marc Larmont Hill further discuss Cardi B and Nicki Minaj’s feud
Marc Larmont Hill opined that kids shouldn’t get in between any beef, regardless of who is right and wrong. He said talking about anybody’s kid is not funny. Hill said:
“This is not funny. When Cardi said her kid’s favorite color was five, I said, ‘That is not funny and nobody should do that.’”
Damona jokingly suggested that she did not feel Hill said that. In her opinion, he must have had a good laugh. Hill also said that he did not like it when Nicki Minaj and Cardi B discussed fertility issues during the feud. However, he said:
“I appreciated that Nicki kind of walked that back and said, ‘You know, what I mean? Like we shouldn’t make fun of people for not being fertile or having fertility issues. Again, like they threw a punch in poor little bit but I thought that I needed to be said. Making fun of people, kids, making fun of people’s health, all that sh*t should be off limits.”
Joe Budden also opined that he couldn’t have discussed such topics even if someone was doing that to him. Speaking about Cardi B, he said that one is not supposed to do that as she was pregnant. He said the focus should be more on trying to have a healthy baby. Damona said it was more like a superstition. Marc Larmont Hill opined:
“And just leave people’s kids out. Even if you ain’t got no kids, don’t plan on having kids, just leave people’s kids.”
Joe Budden jokingly said if his kid is slow, he would know it, and nobody should be telling him that.
