Rapper Ice Cubeās tour bus was reportedly firebombed in Portland. According to a report by XXL Magazine, his bus was attacked after it was mistaken for an Immigration and Customs Enforcement vehicle. Meanwhile, sharing a statement with the magazine outlet, Cube said:
āIām not taking this incident as a personal attack. A coward like that would burn anybodyās property that was out there at the time.ā
The incident happened on September 22 during the rapperās Truth to Power tour. The rapper was on a stop in Portland, where, after the show, one of the tyres of the bus caught fire and was doused. No injuries were reported. A spokesperson from the fire department said:
āWe extinguished the fire and used a fan to ventilate the smoke from the bus.ā
According to a KGW8 report, the incident is under review, and officials are seeking security camera footage from the surrounding area.
Ice Cube said he wanted to give his fans something fresh during the tour
In an August 2025 interview with KPTV FOX 12, Ice Cube shared that while he has toured extensively, heās never been part of a production on this scale. When asked how preparing for a tour differs now compared to 30 years ago, he explained that his top priority is giving longtime fans a fresh and exciting experience every time they see him.
He explained that the tour celebrated 40 years of music with great production, so people wouldnāt feel it was the same as before. The rapper added:
āI get a chance to dig into my catalog a lot more than, you know, maybe on a summer jam type show. So, I have the time. I got the stage. I got the catalog. I got the music. You know, all I need is your time. You know what I'm saying? So, it's going to be fun.ā
When Ice Cube was asked if it was fun to revisit old songs he hadnāt performed in a long time, he said it felt good to give fans what they had wanted for years. He explained that the show mixed old favorites with new music, all done with great production to take people on a trip down memory lane.
Ice Cube looks back on living the dream and the inspiration behind his work
When asked about the driving force behind making music, Ice Cube said heās living his dream, and thatās why he has no plans of slowing down. He said he loved his work, and so did his fans. According to the rapper, he has dedicated his life to music, movies, and recently, sports. He jokingly said:
āI'm still a young man, so I got I got plenty of time to go rest or sit down or, you know, look back and pat myself on the back and all that stuff. You know, I still got too much to do. So, I'm having fun.ā
Ice Cube said he drew inspiration from life in his new music. He said he has been observant of the culture, his personal experiences, and what others have gone through in life. According to him, the best music comes out of everyoneās experiences.
