There has been a development in the story involving rapper David Anthony Burke, aka D4vd. The brother of the girl, Celeste Rivas, whose dismembered body was discovered in the rapper’s Tesla, has spoken up about the incident.
According to The Neighborhood Talk, her brother Matthew Rivas said that David reached out to Celeste when she was around 12. They connected over a site like Twitch. Her brother shared that David used to bring the same Tesla to pick up Celeste, the one in which her body was found.
According to an exclusive report by the Daily Mail, Matthew claimed that the last time she was with them was May 4, 2024. He said Celeste went out for a movie with D4vd and never returned. Other sources informed that the rapper and Celeste were in an underage relationship. Matthew had previously said that his family was aware of the relationship.
Per the outlet, David vacated his Hollywood Hills house, where he was staying on a rental agreement. However, days after the property was emptied, two masked individuals were spotted outside. Police officials had previously raided the property.
What did the landlord of the property say about D4vd?
Meanwhile, the property landlord, Mladen Trifunovic, informed the outlet that he did not know that David was staying in the house. The lease for the property was under the rapper’s manager, Josh Marshall’s name. The contract was from February 2024. He said:
“They've decided to move out because of the ongoing circumstances. They didn't want to be there anymore.”
He had previously shared a statement with Rolling Stone, saying:
“This all came as a complete shock to me. I only found out about the police activity this morning. Until then, I had no idea anything had happened at the house or what was going on with D4vd and the missing girl. I never knew D4vd, and I wasn’t aware that he had ever lived in the house.”
Even after she lost touch with her family, she would reach out to her friends through calls and texts. It was towards the end of July and early August 2024 that she lost all contact with them.
What did a former prosecutor and the medical examiner’s officer say?
A former prosecutor, Neama Rahmani, told the Daily Mail that finding a body in someone’s car was already not a favourable situation, but finding it dismembered made it even worse.
He was surprised no one had been arrested yet but believed that would likely happen soon. Per Rolling Stone, medical investigators found it difficult to ascertain the identity of Celeste Rivas from her decomposed body. A statement read:
“She appears to have been deceased inside the vehicle for an extended period of time before being found.”
Another connection between D4vd and Celeste is that they had similar tattoos. A person named Rubi Alonso said that Celeste was kind and focused on her studies.
