In April 2025, Keke Palmer, 31, canceled an interview with Jonathan Majors that was scheduled for her podcast Baby, This Is Keke Palmer.
According to a Page Six report, the episode was canceled due to backlash after netizens criticized her for hosting Majors. For those unaware, Majors was convicted of assault and harassment in connection with his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, in December 2023.
Addressing the sudden cancellation of the episode, the Man in the Mirror singer expressed her thoughts in a June 20, 2025, interview with the Breakfast Club Power 105.1 FM.

Palmer explained:
"I'm here to be unbiased. You don't agree with everything they did, you don't love everything, but you got to have the conversation. You have to set the stage for them to speak and for people to watch and take what they want to take from it, so that's why I was open and excited to do the interview."
Keke Palmer discussed her shelved podcast with Jonathan Majors
While the controversial episode with Jonathan was filmed already, the team never released it after facing several criticisms online. Keke Palmer accepted the seriousness of Majors' conviction and allegations.
Expressing her love and affection for Jonathan's wife, Meagan Good, Keke said,
"Obviously, Meagan is my girl. I've grown up loving her. She’s honestly a mentor to me and a representation for all of us young Black women. I mean, I was happy for her to get married. I was excited to have the conversation."
The One of Them Days actress admitted that she and her podcast team decided not to release the episode "based off of the reaction."
Looking back at the kind of reactions she received on social media, she further noted,
"People felt it was insensitive. I always want to be respectful and understand where everybody's coming from. If they're not going to feel like they're going to receive anything good from the interview, then okay, cool. But I sat down with the brother for us to talk and let him be heard. I mean, people sit down with serial killers."
She was quick enough to reflect on the remark about serial killers and continued,
"I'm not comparing him to a serial killer! At the end of the day, I felt as a journalist, I'm supposed to talk and let the public decide how they want to feel," Palmer said. "But that didn't get a chance to happen. I wish them all the best. I really want to say that because I don't judge nobody 'cause I don't want to be judged. So at the end of the day, I'm happy for Meagan. I'm happy for them."
Palmer concluded her thoughts on interviewing Majors and the controversy, saying,
"Maybe one day, we get a chance to put [the podcast interview] out. I'm not sure."

Following the news of Jonathan Majors' appearance on an episode titled No Easy Answers: Accountability and Moving Forward With Jonathan Majors, made headlines and amassed backlash on the internet, Palmer's team replaced the scheduled episode with rapper Kash Doll.
