“I’m very emotional right now” - Orlando Bloom quips his dog is an “emotional support animal” amid Katy Perry rift rumors

Amidst rumors of a rift between Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry, Bloom appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Bloom, who appeared on the show with his dog, joked that his dog is an "emotional support animal" because he is "very emotional" at the moment.

Orlando Bloom is a 48-year-old American actor. He has appeared in Pirates of the Caribbean, Troy, and more. Bloom and pop singer Katy Perry have been seeing each other since 2016 and share a four-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove. The duo got engaged in 2019.

In the interview with Jimmy Fallon, which aired on June 10, Bloom jokingly referred to his dog Biggie Smalls as his "emotional support animal" while jokingly adding that,

“Because I’m very emotional right now.”

A day before Orlando Bloom's Tonight Show appearance, reports of him and Perry having "tensions" in their relationship came out. According to US Weekly, a source shared with them that,

“They have been spending more and more time apart. They’ve grown apart and aren’t living the same lives anymore.”

Another insider reportedly shared with US Weekly that people around the couple are aware that the couple is reportedly having issues. Meanwhile, People Magazine, citing inside sources, reported that Katy is tense about the reception of her album and her tour, leading to some tension in their relationship.

According to People Magazine, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom met each other in January 2016 at the Golden Globes after-party because of an In-N-Out order. Soon after, in February of the same year, Bloom introduced Perry to his son (with ex Miranda Kerr). They reportedly both introduced each other to their loved ones.

According to People Magazine, Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry were set to get married in March 2020 but had to postpone it due to COVID-19. On August 27, 2020, they announced via a UNICEF (Bloom and Perry, according to People Magazine, are Goodwill Ambassadors for UNICEF) post that they welcomed a baby girl.

Over the years, both Bloom and Perry have shown their support and love for each other. On June 9, 2025, People Magazine reported that Katy and Bloom are facing tensions in their relationship.
