Insidious 6 adds Voltron alum to its cast: Find out who

Insidious 6 is the upcoming horror film and the sixth installment in the franchise. Jacob Chase is directing the movie, which is scheduled for release by Sony Pictures Releasing on August 21, 2026. Chase co-wrote the film with David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick. The producers include Jason Blum, James Wan, Oren Peli, and Leigh Whannell.

James Wan launched the franchise with Insidious, which debuted in 2010, followed by several sequels.

Recently, it was announced that a Voltron alum has joined the cast. Let’s find out who the actor is and all the details about the upcoming franchise.


Laura Gordon joins the cast of Insidious 6

According to Deadline, Laura Gordon has joined the cast of the forthcoming horror film Insidious 6. She had previously appeared in another horror film called Late Night With the Devil. Besides Insidious 6, Gordon will also appear in the upcoming sci-fi action movie Voltron.

In a CBR interview, Laura Gordon discussed working on the aforementioned film. She said,

"When you can sit down and read a script and you don't want to get up... You're like, I just want to finish this. I need to know what happens, and I'm so captivated and drawn in by the characters. It immediately leapt off the page. so for me it was a no-brainer."

Other cast members of Insidious 6 include Island Austin, Amelie Eve, Lin Shaye, Brandon Perea, Sam Spruell, and Misie Richardson-Sellers. Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Steven Schneider, Ryan Turek, and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick are serving as executive producers. Filming is currently underway in Australia. The film's production banners include Blumhouse Productions and Stage 6 Films.

The last entry in the horror franchise, The Red Door, was directed by Patrick Wilson. Released in 2023, the film grossed $189.1 million at the box office, making it the most financially successful film in the franchise.

In 2010, James Wan directed the first film in the franchise. Its critical and commercial success was followed by Chapter 2, Chapter 3, and The Last Key, released in 2013, 2015, and 2018, respectively.

Meanwhile, Jacob Chase made his feature film directorial debut with the 2020 supernatural horror movie Come Play. It was based on his own short film called Larry. Upon its release, the film received mixed critical reviews. Made on a production budget of $9 million, the film grossed about $13 million. Wan directed the first two films in the Insidious series, and since then, different directors have helmed the projects.
