Former basketball player Zach Randolph seems to have found himself in hot water for alleged domestic violence. According to an exclusive report by TMZ published on May 13, 2025, police got a tip from a woman who alleged that Randolph assaulted her in 2024.
The woman claimed the incident happened in September 2024 following an argument with the player in Los Angeles. She provided officials with photos of the injuries she said were caused by Randolph.
Zach Randolph was married to Faune Drake. However, she filed for divorce in 2020 following six years of marriage. The same year, he allegedly posted a problematic post on Twitter (now X), which made everyone speculate that there was trouble in paradise.
They have five children. The player proposed to Drake in 2013 with a diamond ring, as per a report by The Blast. Speaking of the engagement, she had previously said:
“All I could do was cry joyful, happy tears. It came as a total surprise. I just couldn't believe he planned something like this. The first thought that crossed my mind was that I had to get in shape.”
After getting married to Randolph, she said:
“August 10, 2014, was one of the best days of my life. I married my best friend, my protector, my provider, my children’s father—a man I could not dream of being without.”
Zach Randolph had played in the NBA from the 2001-02 season through the 2017-18.
Zach Randolph’s daughter received training from the late basketball player Kobe Bryant
In 2024, Zach Randolph was interviewed by Podcast P with Paul George, where he talked about the late basketball player Kobe Bryant. He mentioned that his daughter MacKenley was coached by Bryan. Reflecting on the privilege, he said:
“It was just one of the greatest times for her, man. I think that right there really turned her up.”
He explained that after he retired and the family moved to Los Angeles, Gianna saw a Slam Magazine cover featuring Kobe and his daughter and asked if she could try out for Kobe’s team. Wanting to support her, Zach reached out to Kobe.
He told Kobe they had just moved to L.A., and Gianna was interested in joining the team. Kobe responded and suggested bringing her down to Orange County to see how she fit in with the rest of the girls. He said:
“She came down there, bro. She fitted in like a puzzle. Man, the girls loved her man. She was another big that they needed and it just worked out man.”
Zach Randolph shared that his daughter learned a lot from Kobe Bryant. He mentioned that Kobe pushed her hard. He had her running intense drills, which she had never done before, while the other girls were still practicing. He said Kobe made her run to build her stamina and get in shape.
When talking about Kobe’s daughter, Gigi, Zach Randolph said she reminded him of her father. Her shooting style and form were very similar to Kobe’s, and even the way she moved on the court made it clear she was his daughter. He described it as impressive and almost unreal to see those similarities.
