Antonio “AB” Brown shaded Klay Thompson after reports of him dating Megan Thee Stallion emerged.

With the news of the Dallas Mavericks star and the Neva Play rapper’s romance making rounds on social media, Antonio Brown also gave his reaction. The former NFL pro shared a photo of Tory Lanez posing with Klay Thompson, along with a picture that the NBA player recently posted. AB wrote,

“it be your own friends…”

The ex-New England Patriots wide receiver is well-known for his provocative and controversial posts on X. However, Thompson and Lanez might not be as close as AB’s post implied. The picture was taken a couple of years back, during Klay and Tory’s only public appearance together.

According to World Red Eye, the Memories Don't Die rapper performed at the STORY nightclub in Miami, Florida, in 2022. Klay Thompson also attended the show and was snapped with Tory Lanez. It has been the pair’s only public interaction that was reported by the media.

For those unaware, Antonio Brown’s post also referenced the tumultuous history shared by Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez. The rappers were involved in a legal feud that ended with the Daystar rapper facing prison time.

Tory Lanez was convicted of shooting Megan Thee Stallion and was sentenced to 10 years in prison

The Hot Girl Summer rapper was first seen hanging out with the Canadian artist during an Instagram Live session in April 2020. Months later, TMZ reported that Lanez was arrested on a gun charge for carrying a concealed weapon while he was accompanied by Megan Thee Stallion. The Body rapper had a foot injury, initially believed to be caused by glass. The pair was also seen at Kylie Jenner’s pool party earlier that night.

A few days later, Megan Thee Stallion revealed that she suffered a gunshot wound to her foot. The rapper confirmed in an Instagram post that she was not arrested and was taken to the hospital. Megan also reflected on the backlash she received in a separate post a couple of days later. The rapper wrote on X (formerly Twitter),

“Black women are so unprotected & we hold so many things in to protect the feelings of others w/o considering our own. It might be funny to y’all on the internet and just another messy topic for you to talk about but this is my real life and I’m real life hurt and traumatized.”

In August 2020, Megan Thee Stallion accused Tory Lanez of shooting at her during an Instagram Live session (via People),

“You shot me, and you got your publicist and your people going to these blogs lying and s***. Stop lying. Why lie? I don't understand. I tried to keep the situation off the internet, but you're dragging it.”

In September 2020, Tory Lanez dropped Daystar and denied the allegations through his track, “Money Over Fallouts.” However, in October the rapper was officially charged with “felony assault with a semiautomatic firearm.” The LA County DA revealed in a press release,

“Daystar Peterson aka Tory Lanez (dob 7/27/92) was charged today in case BA490599 with one felony count each of assault with a semiautomatic firearm – personal use of a firearm – and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. The defendant also faces a gun allegation and that he personally inflicted great bodily injury.”

Tory Lanez faced a nine-day trial in December 2022 and was found guilty on all three charges. In August 2023, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison. While incarcerated, Lanez has received support from many, including Drake, Amber Rose, Kodak Black, and more—especially after he was stabbed in prison.

Around the same time, the Grammy winner called out everyone favoring Tory’s release. She also lambasted the social media users calling her side of the story a lie. According to Billboard, Megan Thee Stallion called Tory Lanez a “demon” in her TikTok video posted on May 19, 2025.
