Mandy Moore has done it all, from teen pop sensation to acclaimed actress, but there's still one spotlight she's chasing: Broadway's.

In an exclusive interview with People, the singer-actress says that stepping onto the Great White Way would be the ultimate career thrill, even if it scares her senseless.

"One day doing Broadway, doing theater, is sort of what remains on a pedestal for me. It terrifies me, but also the idea of it thrills me more than anything. So one day, hopefully, that will come to fruition. We'll see."

Mandy Moore added that she isn't picky, saying she would want to pursue her career bucket list either way with the right timing.

"I think I'm pretty open to when the timing is right and the right project sort of presenting itself. Maybe it's something original, maybe it's a revival of something. I'm kind of open to right place, right time, whatever it is."

Mandy Moore has been in the entertainment industry for over two decades, starting her career with the release of her single "Candy" in 1999. Through the years, she has taken on notable roles, such as in The Princess Diaries with Anne Hathaway in 2001, and in Nicholas Sparks' A Walk to Remember book-to-movie adaptation with Shane West in 2002.

In 2010, Moore voiced the character of Rapunzel in the animated film Tangled. Some of the actress's other hit movies include Chasing Liberty (2004), License To Wed (2007), and Because I Said So (2007).

Apart from "Candy," her other popular songs include "Cry" and "Only Hope" from A Moment To Remember, "I See The Light" from Tangled, and other fan-favorites "Someday We'll Know," "I Wanna Be With You," "Crush," and "When Will My Life Begin."

Mandy Moore shares she’s thankful to have experienced fame before social media took over: "I never felt overwhelmed"

During her attendance at the 2025 Inspiration Awards in September, Mandy Moore expressed how fortunate she is to have navigated early fame before the rise of social media. She explained to People:

“I feel really, really lucky, because I was still able to be a regular 15-year-old and have this incredible job and opportunities that I never could have fathomed, but I'm still able to be a kid."

The "In My Pocket" singer went on:

"I could go to the mall, I could go to amusement parks, I could go to the homecoming dance at my old school with my friends. I was still very much allowed to toggle between both worlds, and I never felt overwhelmed."

For Mandy Moore, carving your own path can be the key to lasting success.

“No one told me that I had to pick a lane and define myself in one way. I was able to figure things out as I went along, step by step. And I feel like that, to me, has been the definition of success and longevity.”
