YouTuber and rapper Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., aka DDG, has compared himself to Michael Jackson in his latest X post. On June 6, 2025, he took to the social media platform and wrote:
“Now i know how michael jackson felt being famous.. sh*t crazy.”

Social media users had mixed reactions to the statement. While some criticized him for comparing himself to the King of Pop, others brought up his ongoing fallout with Halle Bailey. One Instagram user (@brownskinmiss) wrote:
“The delusion! “Little Mermaid’s baby daddy” is literally your name sir.”

Many were displeased with the trend of comparing anyone to Michael Jackson, while others mocked DDG, suggesting he had taken things too far:
“Idk why this generation so comfortable speaking on “Michael Jackson” but ok,” a social media user (@therealkamarrii) commented.
“Michael be in heaven, just irritated,” a netizen (@mynameisakai) remarked.
“Whoa there. Got a little too much dip on yo chip,” an online commentator (@blackartexpo) shared.

Some Instagram users mentioned that people knew the American Youtuber and rapper only because of Halle Bailey, while others criticised the comparison.
“He must've never heard: don't compare where you don't compete,” an internet user (@elijahsoull) jested.
“Meanwhile Halle booked, busy, and silent as he tweets,” a platform user (@babyxjayxo) mentioned.
“Michael had people fainting just at the sight of him incomparable,” another social media user (@realquakio) reacted.

Another Instagram user (@tamikanewhouse) weighed in, saying:
“Mannnnn. The world don’t know you. And if they do it’s because of Halle lol.”

What we know about DDG’s counter-petition against Halle Bailey
In other news, on June 4, 2025, DDG filed a restraining order as part of a counter-petition against Halle Bailey, who had previously accused the YouTuber of domestic violence. According to the court filing, Bailey allegedly used self-harming tactics and involved their child, Halo, in emotionally manipulative ways.
The filing includes past text messages from Bailey in which she reportedly expressed suicidal thoughts and emotional distress. Billboard quoted the rapper's statement in the court documents:
“In or about August 2023, during a particularly volatile argument, petitioner became enraged and threatened to end her life using my legally owned firearm. Without my consent, she took the weapon and left the house.”
He went on:
“This incident was one of several in which petitioner’s actions posed a serious threat to her own safety and the safety of our son by creating an environment of emotional distress and danger within the home.”
DDG’s lawyer argued that someone with a history of emotional instability, suicidal behavior, and unsafe conduct around a child should not be permitted to take the baby out of the country without oversight from California’s legal and support systems.
Meanwhile, in her statement, Halle Bailey acknowledged past struggles with anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts. She explained that she had sought professional help, was in ongoing treatment, and remained a fully present and capable parent to Halo.
Bailey also stated that if DDG had genuine concerns about her parenting, he would have acted sooner. She accused him of using the legal process to retaliate and inflict emotional harm.
