Noah Wyle took home his first Emmy at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards. The actor, best known for ER, took home the award for Best Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Dr. Michael "Robby" Ribonavitch in HBO Max's The Pitt.

For Wyle, the achievement came 26 years after his last Emmy nomination. Fans pointed to his long-standing association with medical dramas and the gravitas he brought to his new role. Notably, Noah Wyle was competing against names like Sterling K. Brown (Paradise), Gary Oldman (Slow Horses), Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us), and Adam Scott (Severance). Fans reacted to his win by saying:

Wyle delivered a notable speech as he accepted the award at Los Angeles' Peacock Theater on Sunday night. 'The Pitt' actor mentioned:

"What a dream this has been. To anybody who is going on shift or coming off shift tonight, thank you for being in that job, this is for you."

He saluted his fellow nominees, noting that "just having my name included in your company is the honor of a lifetime." He went on to thank HBO Max and Warner Bros. Television "for allowing the conditions to exist for lightning to strike in my life twice."
