Actor and director Matthew Lillard, popularly recognised for his role as 'Shaggy' in Scooby-Doo, has reportedly taken a stand against ICE. Variety reported that he surprised fans at Cinespia's Scream Halloween party screening on Friday night. Amid growing concerns about ICE sweeps in the USA, several celebrities have used the public platform to voice their opinions.

Matthew didn't appear to hold back and said,

“Fuck ICE."

He added,

“In this time, in this city, we need to lead with love. Do not forget that shit in this moment. Not to be political, but to be political as shit.”

A clip from the event is going viral and was shared on X (@culturecrave). Fans can be heard hooting and cheering during Matthew's message. He also encourages his audience at LA's Hollywood Forever Cemetery to "vote" on Proposition 50.

Matthew Lillard has joined the lineup of celebrities, including Pedro Pascal, Jamie Lee Curtis, Anna Kendrick, and many more, who have taken a stand against the Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids. During a surprise appearance at the screening of Scream, Matthew Lillard made his stance clear.

He also encouraged his audience at LA's Hollywood Forever Cemetery to "vote" on Proposition 50. For those unversed, the Prop 50 is reportedly gaining momentum in California to redraw its congressional districts. David added,

"Yes to 50. You have to vote. If you don’t vote, we are going down. So it’s on us. And if you don’t like that, I’m so not sorry."

This comes amid backlash against the Scream franchise after actress Melissa Barrera was allegedly dropped from the movie for speaking about the Israel-Hamas conflict. While fans were happy to hear about David's stance against the ICE raids, some took to social media to note that they haven't forgotten what allegedly happened with Melissa.

Matthew Lillard spoke against ICE and encouraged his fans to vote for Prop 50. The actor is set to make a comeback with Scream 7, scheduled for release in February 2026. He will appear alongside the original cast of the movie, including Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette.
