Priscilla Presley and her granddaughter Riley Keough have issued a joint statement about new allegations in an ongoing legal case. The lawsuit was filed by Presley’s former business partners, Brigitte Kruse and Kevin Fialko, who accuse Presley of fraud, breach of contract, and other claims.

In their response, Presley, 80, and Keough, 36, rejected the allegations. They said the claims are not true and are hurtful to their family. They also said they are united in protecting the legacies of Elvis Presley and Lisa Marie Presley.

“Our family is, and always has been, united in love and respect for one another,” Presley and Keough told PEOPLE. “Our shared priority remains honoring Lisa Marie’s memory and protecting Elvis’ legacy with dignity.”

The joint statement from Priscilla Presley and Keough comes shortly after an amended lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court. In the filing, Kruse and Fialko accused Presley of fraud in the inducement, misappropriation of name and likeness, and interference with contracts.

Priscilla Presley and Keough addressed the allegations directly.

“These claims are not only untrue but also deeply hurtful,” they said. “We will not allow outside voices to divide us or to diminish the strength of our bond as a family.”

Since Lisa Marie Presley’s death in January 2023, the family has been involved in several public disputes. Keough said the focus should remain on honoring her mother’s memory. She has spoken openly about how quickly the estate battle began after Lisa Marie’s passing.

In the lawsuit documents, a letter from Riley Keough to her grandmother was included. The letter was written after Lisa Marie’s death. Keough expressed her disappointment that legal action was taken against her.

“Unfortunately Nona as you are taking me to court I am being forced to defend my mother’s wishes legally and publicly which would not have been my choice,” Keough wrote.

She also said it was hurtful after years of trying to repair family relationships. Keough further noted how soon lawyers contacted her after Lisa Marie’s death.

“I found being called about the will, less than 24 hours after my mother passed and getting emails from lawyers before my mother was even buried, incredibly heartbreaking,” she said in the letter.

The Presley family stated they will remain united and will not allow outside parties to divide them as the lawsuit continues. They have also said they will not allow outside voices to divide them. The case is expected to move forward in Los Angeles court.
