Jimmy Kimmel is officially back on ABC after a controversial week that saw his show temporarily suspended. On Tuesday night, Jimmy Kimmel Live! returned with a record-breaking 6.26 million viewers.

POTUS President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to target Kimmel following his ABC return. Kimmel fired back on air during his Wednesday show's monologue. He labeled Trump an "old-fashioned 80s movie style bully."

Jimmy Kimmel stated:

"Those who think I go too hard on Donald Trump … I talk about Trump more than anything because he is a bully. I don't like bullies. I played the clarinet in high school. Okay? So I just don’t like them. I don’t care what side you’re on. It’s like rooting for Biff from ‘Back to the Future.’ Literally, Donald Trump was the model for Biff in ‘Back to the Future'. And this is who people are cheering for. I don’t know about you. I'm with Marty McFly."

What did Donald Trump say about Jimmy Kimmel's ABC reinstatement?

After Kimmel's return was officially announced, Trump posted a message on Truth Social. In it, he attacked ABC for reinstating the comedian, stating:

"I can't believe ABC Fake News gave Jimmy Kimmel his job back. The White House was told by ABC that his Show was cancelled! Something happened between then and now because his audience is GONE, and his "talent" was never there."

POTUS went on to slam Kimmel:

"Why would they want someone back who does so poorly, who's not funny, and who puts the Network in jeopardy by playing 99% positive Democrat GARBAGE. He is yet another arm of the DNC and, to the best of my knowledge, that would be a major Illegal Campaign Contribution. I think we're going to test ABC out on this. Let's see how we do. Last time I went after them, they gave me $16 Million Dollars. This one sounds even more lucrative. A true bunch of losers! Let Jimmy Kimmel rot in his bad Ratings."

On Wednesday's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the host addressed Trump's post. Kimmel said:

"You can’t believe they gave me my job back? I can’t believe they gave you your job back! We are even."

He then joked that Trump would "try to sue" ABC, adding,

"Only Donald Trump would try to prove he was not threatening ABC by threatening ABC."

The host capped off the segment by describing Trump as "an old-fashioned 80s movie style bully." He also explained why he keeps targeting him in his comedy, saying:

"I talk about Trump more than anything because he is a bully."

ABC announced that Kimmel's return drew 6.26 million viewers, which is a significant surge compared to his reported average of around 1.7 million. The episode also became his most-watched monologue on YouTube, with nearly 16 million views within 24 hours.
