Paulette McNeely to Tamara Hood, All about mothers of Eddie Murphy’s children amid son’s marriage

Eddie Murphy and his former partner Paulette McNeely’s son Eric got married recently.

The eldest child of the Beverly Hills Cop star tied the knot with Martin Lawrence’s daughter in a private ceremony. Eddie, who recently appeared on The Jennifer Hudson Show, revealed that his and Paulette McNeely’s only son got married quietly in church. The celebrated comedian-actor shared,

“Actually, they got married like two weeks ago. They went off. Everybody was making the big wedding plans, and then they decided they wanted to do something quiet with just the two of them, and then they got married.”

He added,

“He [Martin Lawrence] and I don't have to pay for the big wedding now.”

Eddie told Jennifer Hudson that Eric Murphy and Jasmin Lawrence “didn’t have a wedding,” as he continued,

“They went off and they got married at the church. [...] They just had the two of them and the preacher. They had a little quiet… A little quiet little thing. So, I think we'll have, like, a big party or something. They just… They ran off and got married.”

Eddie Murphy and Paulette McNeely’s son started dating Jasmine Lawrence years back and went Instagram official in June 2021. They got engaged last year in November and married earlier this month. Eric is one of Eddie Murphy’s 10 children, whom he shares with five women, including Paulette McNeely.

From Paulette McNeely to Tamra Hood - Eddie Murphy fathered 10 kids across five relationships

The former Saturday Night Live cast member-writer earned stardom during the ‘80s. By the end of the decade, Murphy also got to play the role of a father in real life. He had his first child with Paulette McNeely, a former girlfriend who stayed away from the spotlight. The pair welcomed Eric in July 1989. Despite her brief relationship with the popular comedian, there’s little to no information about Paulette McNeely.

Months after Eric Murphy was born, Eddie welcomed his second child, Bria, with Nicole Mitchell. The couple initially met at the NAACP Image Awards in ‘88, according to Showbiz Cheat Sheet, and tied the knot in 1993.

After Bria, Eddie and Nicole welcomed Myles Mitchell (November 1992), Shayne Audra (October 1994), Zola Ivy (December 24, 1999), and Bella Zahra (January 2002). In a 2012 interview with Radar, Nicole Mitchell, a model, remarked on her relationship with Murphy after they had already divorced.

“Eddie and I are friends; he’s my babies’ daddy so we speak to each other and have a great relationship and I think that’s important when you have children involved. We can be in the same room and hang out, it’s all good!”

Nicole was married to Eddie Murphy for 12 years between 1993 and 2006. Before marrying the model, the Coming to America star dated Tamara Hood, and they welcomed their son Christian in November 1990. According to IMDb, Tamara Hood is a casting director-production manager. Per TMZ, she sued the Hollywood Exes producers for allegedly stealing her idea.

Eddie Murphy and Tamara Hood’s relationship was also short-lived. After they parted ways, the comedian married his first wife, Nicole, who he divorced in 2006. After the end of his first marriage, Murphy was involved with Melanie Brown of the Spice Girls. They had a daughter, Angel, whose paternity was in question initially. Eventually, Eddie Murphy admitted to being the father of Mel B’s daughter, per Access Hollywood. After almost a decade, the You People actor began his relationship with Australian model Paige Butcher, who is his current wife. Together, the couple welcomed daughter Izzy Oona and son Max Charles in 2016 and 2018, respectively.
