Singer Connie Francis, the voice behind the 1962 song, Pretty Little Baby, which went viral on social media recently, is no more. The news came after her friend, Ron Roberts, shared a Facebook post on July 17. According to Gold Radio, the post read:
“It is with a heavy heart and extreme sadness that I inform you of the passing of my dear friend Connie Francis last night. I know that Connie would approve that her fans are among the first to learn of this sad news.”
The veteran songstress, who was 87 at the time of her death, was taken to the hospital earlier in July 2025 after she complained about having intense pain. At the time, she shared an update about her health, writing that she underwent various medical tests to diagnose what caused her intense pain.
She was supposed to perform at a show on July 4, but that never happened due to her sudden hospitalisation. Cousin Brucie also posted an update about her health emergency. Meanwhile, Connie Francis wrote:
“I had hoped to take part in Brucie's show for Independence Day, having had to cancel a previous slot a few weeks ago when receiving treatment on my hip. Sadly, I had to let him know that I again had to withdraw. My thanks for your many get well soon messages. I will endeavor to keep you updated. Love, Connie.”
After going through the tests, she was shifted from the ICU to a cabin. She thanked her fans for their love and support during that time.

Connie Francis struggled with PTSD at one point in her life. She was bound to take a break from singing due to numerous complications with her voice following a nasal surgery in 1981.
Although she could not perform on July 4, she shared a message, noting:
“Today I am feeling much better after a good night, and wanted to take this opportunity of wishing you all a happy Fourth of July. Thank you all for your continued kind thoughts and prayers. A happy Independence Day to you and your loved ones.”
As mentioned, Francis’ song, Pretty Little Baby, became an internet sensation recently. During a conversation with People Magazine in May 2025, she looked back on her song, admitting she didn’t even remember it at first and had to listen again to recall it. She mentioned:
“It’s truly awesome. I never thought it was possible. It's a dream come true. To think that kindergarten kids now know my name and my music? It’s just thrilling!”
Connie Francis found it incredible that something she recorded 63 years earlier was still touching millions of people. She said it felt amazing and an honor to see people paying tribute to her, calling the experience breathtaking.
