Mark Ruffalo is excited to meet Jon Bernthal for Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Mark Ruffalo will be appearing as Bruce Banner, aka Hulk, in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The film will also feature Jon Bernthal as The Punisher. Ruffalo spoke to THR during the premiere of Task where he shared his excitement to meet Bernthal.
“If I’m doing that — which the rumors are that I am, once I get a script, I’ll know it’s real — but I love him and we have a common friend in Lena Dunham, believe it or not, who just adores him."
He added,
“I can’t wait to work with him, he’s so funny and he’s such a great actor. He plays that character like nobody else. I’m really excited to meet him, I’ve never met him!”
Ruffalo's last tryst with the MCU was in the Disney+ series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Meanwhile, it will be the first time Bernthal appears alongside Ruffalo's Hulk and Holland's Spider-Man.
He played the role of Frank Castle aka Punisher, in two seasons of Netflix's The Punisher. However, it was cancelled in 2019. Bernthal appeared briefly as the character in Daredevil: Born Again.
