Mark Ruffalo is soon returning to the television screens with HBO’s Task. The crime drama has been created by Mare of Easttown creator Brad Ingelsby and is set in suburban Philadelphia.
When a seemingly normal family man goes on a violent robbing spree, the FBI has to form a team to stop him from invading homes. Ruffalo stars as the agent who leads the team, while Tom Pelphrey plays the thief.

The series revolves around Tom, an FBI agent who is assigned the charge of a special team formed to investigate robberies happening in suburban Philadelphia. The suspect is a seemingly normal family man named Robbie.
As a cat-and-mouse chase ensues, both Tom and Robbie go through a hard time personally and struggle with internal demons. The official logline of the series reads:
