The annual Red Sea International Film Festival (RSIFF) kicked off on December 4 at Al-Balad, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This film festival awarded films from the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and throughout the world. The official website of the Red Sea International Film Festival described the event as:

“Over 10 full days, Historic Jeddah transforms into a cultural and artistic hub, hosting film stars from both behind and in front of the camera, from all around the world. It's an extraordinary cinematic celebration for film lovers and creators alike."

It continued as:

"From captivating and thrilling stories to the wonders of animation and compelling documentaries, the Festival showcases a carefully curated selection of the latest Saudi, Arab, and international films, covering all categories of cinematic storytelling.”

At this year's film festival, movies like Hijra, Lost Land, Yunan, The World of Love, and more films bagged awards across different categories with respective cash prizes.

Features Competition

  • Golden Yusr Best Feature Film ($100,000 prize): Lost Land (directed by Akio Fujimoto)
  • Silver Yusr Feature Film ($30,000 prize): All That’s Left of You (directed by Cherien Dabis)
  • Yusr Jury Prize ($10,000 prize): Hijra (directed by Shahad Ameen)
  • Yusr Best Director ($10,000 prize): Ameer Fakher Eldin for Yunan
  • Yusr Best Actor: George Khabbaz for Yunan
  • Yusr Best Actress: Seo Su-Bin for The World of Love
  • Yusr Best Screenplay ($10,000 prize): A Sad and Beautiful World (written and directed by Cyril Aris)
  • Yusr Cinematic Achievement: Nighttime Sounds (directed by Zhang Zhongchen)
  • Al Sharq Award for Best Documentary In Competition ($10,000 prize): In-I: In Motion(directed by Juliette Binoche)

  • Special Mention Short Film: Jeem 1983(directed by Jorj Abou Mhaya)

Stars like Dakota Johnson, Jessica Alba, Rita Ora, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Nina Dobrev, Uma Thurman, Kirsten Dunst, and more strutted the red carpet at the Red Sea International Film Festival.
