Robert Pattinson opens up about his experience of working on Dune 3, says ‘I just couldn’t question anything’

Dune 3, also known as Dune: Part Three, will be the third entry in the Dune franchise. The epic space opera is directed by Denis Villeneuve, who has also written the screenplay with Jon Spaihts. Warner Bros. Pictures will release it on December 18, 2026. It will serve as a sequel to 2024's Dune: Part Two and is based on Frank Herbert's novel Dune Messiah.

Robert Pattinson, who is also starring in the film, recently spoke about his experience of doing the film. Mentioning how hot the desert was where the film was shot, he said:

"I just couldn’t question anything"

Robert Pattinson recently spoke about his experience of shooting Dune 3 in a desert. He said that it was so hot that his brain could not function for a while.

“When I was doing Dune it was so hot in the desert that I just couldn’t question anything and it was so relaxing, like my brain actually wasn’t operating. I did not have a single functioning brain cell. And I was just listening to Denis [Villeneuve]: ‘Whatever you want!'”

The makers are yet to reveal what character Pattinson is playing in the film, but reports suggest that he is playing the antagonist Scytale. The film is produced by Denis Villeneuve, Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Patrick McCormick, and Tanya Lapointe under the banner of Legendary Pictures. Its cast members include,

Dune 3 is adapted from Frank Herbert's 1969 novel Dune Messiah, which focuses on the repercussions of Atreides's actions after he ascended to Emperor Muad’Dib.

The first film was released in 2021 and met with positive reviews and grossed $411 million. It was followed by a sequel, Dune Part Two, which was released in 2024.

Meanwhile, Pattinson was last seen in Bong Joon-Ho's Mickey 17 and Die My Love. He will be next seen in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, The Drama, Primetime, and Here Comes the Flood.

Dune 3 will release theatrically on December 18, 2026, by Warner Bros. Pictures.
