On August 3, 2025, Michael Mando shared a picture on Instagram, confirming his appearance as Scorpion in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Posting a black and white mirror selfie, the actor wrote the caption, ‘st!ng’, referring to Scorpion, and followed it up with the hashtag ‘spiderman.’ Audiences flooded the comment section of the post as they shared their excitement about the villain’s return.

Scorpion, whose real name is MacDonald "Mac" Gargan, was a professional criminal in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Now, all these years later, it seems like Scorpion is ready for revenge.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day recently began filming, with the makers sharing a glimpse of the superhero’s new suit, which seems to be a perfect blend of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spidey costumes. While the plot details have been kept under wraps, on-set photos and videos are circulating online that showcase Tom Holland getting ready for some action-packed scenes in his Spider-Man suit.

Brand New Day will follow up on the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, where the world forgot about Peter Parker’s existence after Doctor Strange’s magical spell. Tom Holland is returning as the titular character for his fourth film as the lead. Other actors from the franchise who are coming back include Zendaya as Michelle "MJ" Jones-Watson and Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds.

Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas, Jon Bernthal, and Mark Ruffalo have also joined the cast. The film has been written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers and directed by Destin Daniel Cretton. The movie will hit the theaters on July 31, 2026.
