"Stay safe out there" - Jodie Turner-Smith shares cryptic Instagram post targeting Joshua Jackson over emergency custody order modification 

Jodie Turner-Smith is in the headlines for making a cryptic post on her Instagram stories. The social media upload was a response to ex-husband Joshua Jackson’s actions a few days earlier, when the former Dawson’s Creek star filed a motion and request for an emergency custody order modification. The motion alleged that Turner-Smith changed their 5-year-old daughter Juno's school without his knowledge or permission.

In the post, Jodie Turner-Smith shared an image featuring cartoon villains who started off as the good guys, originally posted on the @netflixnmovies account. The post was a nod to these characters’ villain-turns and Jodie Turner-Smith captioned the story with a warning:

"🤦🏾‍♀️ stay safe out there ⚠️ ."

One can only interpret that ex-husband Joshua exhibited a similar 'heel turn' in her eyes, as the situation continues to intensify.

According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Jackson asserted that his ex wife Jodie Turner-Smith believes it’s

“no big deal to force Juno to start over with a new school. Jodie is attempting to create a scenario where Juno travels with her rather than attending a traditional school."

In the court order, Jackson has requested that Juno be given the chance to attend her current school until the end of the upcoming academic year before moving on. Additionally, Jackson has put it in official documentation that he and Turner-Smith have joint consent for any subsequent school changes.

Jackson and Turner-Smith began dating in 2018, although they did not officially disclose it until the following year. The couple filed for divorce in October 2023, four years after tying the knot. At the time, they had agreed to joint custody, but were unable to see eye to eye on the matter of schooling even then.

At the recent Karate Kid: Legends premiere in May, Jackson gushed about the potential of getting to spend extended time with his daughter over the summer,

"She graduates from school or from [Transitional Kindergarten] TK in a couple of weeks, and then we got some summer camp and we'll figure it out after that.”

In an October 2024 interview with Glamour UK, Turner-Smith spoke on the challenges of co-parenting and the love she has for Juno,

“Nobody hands you a manual. Everyone’s trying to figure it out. I said I wanted a brilliant, intelligent, sassy daughter, and here she is.”
