UK-based influencer Elizabeth Odunsi, known to her loved ones as Tamilore Odunsi, was recently murdered in Houston. The influencer's roommate has been charged with her murder and taken into custody. While her family is raising funds to bring her body from the US to the UK, they have launched a GoFundMe page and raised over $60,000 as of this writing.

Tamilore Odunsi ran a TikTok account under the name of Tami Dollars. The 23-year-old studied at a nursing college in the US and had over 45,000 followers on the platform. According to her GoFundMe page, her sister Georgina mentioned that the reason why she "moved from the UK to the United States" was "to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse, dedicating herself to a life of care and service."

It was her special love for children that motivated her to become a nurse and make a "difference in young lives through her future work in healthcare."

"Outside of her studies, she brought joy to others through her love for creating content and expressing her vibrant personality. Tragically, Tami was brutally murdered just days before she was set to graduate from university—an unimaginable loss at a moment that should have marked the beginning of a bright and promising future," Georgina added.

Tamilore Odunsi's family has now raised $68,895 out of their target of $100,000 from over 3,300 donations. They are urging people for donations as their "goal is to bring Tami home from the United States to the UK so she can be laid to rest surrounded by her family and loved ones."

The donations will cover the costs of her "repatriation, funeral, and burial." Moreover, it will also help her family during their painful time.

Houston Police Department share statement regarding Tamilore Odunsi's murder

The Houston Police Department have issued an official statement detailing what happened with Tamilore Odunsi. In the statement, updated on cityofhouston.news, HPD Homicide Division Detectives H. Martinez and S. Chettry reported that patrol officers were called for a welfare check on April 26 to an apartment complex on 6510 Goforth Street.

When they knocked on the door, they did not receive any answer. However, after discovering blood on the rear concrete patio, they entered the apartment and found Odunsi on the kitchen floor. She had multiple stab wounds, and the paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.

On the other hand, Odunsi's male roommate, named Chester Lamar Grant, was also found in a bedroom with "at least one stab wound." He was immediately transported to an area hospital in critical condition. After further investigation, Grant was arrested on May 2 as the suspect in the murder, and charged with a bond of $500,000.

Grant's court date is scheduled for May 7, Wednesday.
