Dancer and TV personality Allison Holker reminisced about the time she spent with her late hubby, Stephen tWitch Boss. On May 18, 2025, she sat down with her daughter, Weslie Fowler, on the Between Us with Allison and Weslie podcast, where they explored the idea of confidence through various dimensions in life.

While discussing the impact of social media, Holker said she wished people weren’t curated on social media. She shared that after losing Stephen two years ago, she learned not to compare herself to others.

Allison Holker explained that what she missed most about him were often his flaws or annoying habits. Those little quirks were what she found herself wishing she could experience again. She added:

“Like we always joked that he would leave like the toothpaste lid off of like the toothpaste. It was so annoying. The toothpaste would get all over our sink but I missed that he would leave his stuff everywhere and I missed that clutter sometimes.”

Allison Holker reflected on how Stephen used to think some of his behaviors were bad habits, but those were the moments she missed most after his death. She said that what he saw as flaws, like his playful teasing, made him special to her.

Losing him made her realize that the things people often criticize about themselves are what make them unique. It also helped her stop comparing herself to others, especially after going through such a deep loss.

Stephen died by suicide in 2022. The couple was in marital ties for nine years.

Allison Holker on hobbies and the evocative power of smells and scents

Elsewhere in the podcast, Allison Holker shared that her biggest insecurity had been her teeth, especially because people often commented on them online. Seeing others with perfect smiles sometimes made her compare herself, but she reminded herself that she was okay just the way she was.

When it came to meditation, she explained that it didn’t always have to look traditional, like sitting cross-legged with arms out. While she tried to practice that form, she found that even simple activities like doing her nails helped her feel grounded. Those small moments of spending time with herself felt just as calming and beneficial.

Allison Holker talked about how much she enjoyed having hobbies, saying that activities like dancing, working out, cold plunges, cooking, and even interior design gave her the same happiness and fulfillment. She told Weslie:

“I love that you brought like scents and smells. Smells mean so much to me. I just think it brings me back to memories, thoughts and like moments in time. Like there are certain scents that will take me to Hawaii like the family trip we have gone on. There are certain scents that will take me back to smell like smells, like a churro back to Disneyland with the family.”

Allison Holker shared that activities like dancing and working out helped her feel connected to self-love and creating a space that felt good to be in. For her, having a clean and organized home played a big role in feeling safe and cared for.

She explained that maintaining a fresh, good-smelling space was part of her self-care routine.
