What did Jon and Vinny write about SZA’s initiative?

In one of the Instagram posts, Jon and Vinny wrote that SZA had contacted them the previous week with an idea, and together they made it happen. For seven days, they teamed up with her NOT Charity to give out 1,400 free meals to people in Los Angeles who used SNAP benefits.

Each day, 100 dinners for two were offered as takeout from their Slauson branch between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. from November 11 to November 17. They wrote:

“Please email [email protected] to sign up for a meal (up to 4 allowed per family) and our team will assign you a pick up time. Please spread the word to those in need. Thank you SZA for inspiring all of us to be there for our neighbors.”

The songstress also shared her thoughts in the Instagram post, writing:

“Yall know how much I love Jon and Vinny’s !! But it ain’t no fun if the Homies can’t have none !!”

While speaking to Interview Magazine in 2021, Solána was asked how he became involved with issues like social justice and sustainability. SZA explained that as she grew more spiritual, she realized how everything in nature was connected. She said she once used bug spray without thinking, but later understood that if it could harm tiny insects, it might also affect her in some way.

SZA said learning about how recycling often ends up in landfills made her more aware of her actions. Spending time in nature as an adult made her pay even more attention to the environment.
