Reality television personality Savannah Chrisley spoke to the media while she was waiting to pick up her father from a prison in Florida on May 28. Chrisley’s father, Todd Chrisley, was about to be released from prison after he and his wife received a pardon on their sentences from President Donald Trump. An emotional Chrisley, while speaking to Fox 5 Atlanta, said,
“Honestly, this process has been absolutely insane. And, I am just so grateful that I’m going to leave here with my dad…President Trump signed the pardons, I think, at around 3 pm this afternoon. And it is all due to President Trump”
In her exchange with the media outside the prison, Chrisley, while acknowledging the grace of God, added,
“We literally could not have done it. It’s all God and President Trump at this point.”

Savannah Chrisley further shared with the media that her younger brother will be picking up their mother from prison. While Chrisley’s father has been serving his sentence in a Florida prison, the 27-year-old reality TV icon’s mother, Julie Chrisley, has been incarcerated at a prison in Kentucky. Chrisley said,
“My brother Grayson is there to pick up my mom.”
About the case against Savannah Chrisley’s parents
In August 2019, Savannah Chrisley’s parents were indicted on several charges, which included bank fraud, tax fraud, wire fraud, and conspiracy to defraud the United States, as per the LA Times.
The prosecution process against the couple, which began in 2019, ended with their conviction in 2022, after a grand jury trial in an Atlanta court, as per CBS.
After her parents’ conviction by the Federal grand jury, Savannah Chrisley took to social media to express her views on the case. In a post on Instagram, she said,
“Before you continue reading, I would like to ask one thing of you… please be kind. This life is so cruel and we’re all doing the best we can. I will continue to stand by my family and fight for justice. Justice for ourselves and for others that the system has failed.”
Ever since Chrisley’s parents turned themselves in to serve their respective prison sentences, Savannah Chrisley has been advocating for their clemency. Over the last two years, in addition to advocating for her parents’ release, Chrisley also became an advocate for prison reform.
Savannah Chrisley on her parents’ conviction
Savannah Chrisley spoke about her ordeal at the Republican National Convention in 2024. Chrisley said,
“Good evening. 72600019 and 72601019. These may be just numbers to you, but to me, they're my whole heart. These numbers are my parents' identification numbers in our federal prison system. My name is Savannah Crisley, and you may have seen my family on TV, but for the past decade we've been consumed with a different kind of drama.”
Detailing the tribulations her parents faced, Chrisley said,
“My family was persecuted by rogue prosecutors in Fulton County…Due to our public profile and conservative beliefs, they accused my parents of fraud when really, we were defrauded by a dishonest business partner who, let's not forget the government gave full immunity to. We suffered warrantless raids and harassment. One of the officials even had my father's face on a dartboard in his office.”

Providing an insight into life after her parents’ conviction, Chrisley added,
“My parents were sentenced to a combined 19 years...And let me tell you, I got custody of my brother and sister, 10 and 16 at the time. And you don't know heartache until you look two children in the eyes and say, ‘I don't know when mom and dad are coming home.’”
Chrisley’s advocacy for her parents, who she alleged were wrongfully convicted of fraud, did indeed pay off. As per the BBC, White House aide Margo Martin posted a video online wherein President Trump is seen speaking to Chrisley on a phone call.
According to the report by the BBC, Trump, during his telephone conversation with Chrisley, said,
“Your parents are going to be free and clean and I hope we can do that by tomorrow…I don't know them but give them my regards, and wish them a good life.”
It seems like the Chrisley Knows Best family might be making a return to reality television. Chrisley addressed her family’s upcoming reality show during her conversation with Fox 5 Atlanta and revealed,
“We have a new show coming out on Lifetime and it will document all of these things and we are excited.”
As per People Magazine, Savannah Chrisley shared that her parents could not believe that their prison ordeal was getting over and that they were coming home.
