Journalist and political commentator Megyn Kelly reacted to Whoopi Goldberg’s suggestion for people attending the Super Bowl. On the recent episode of The View, Joy Behar mentioned that the US Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, had threatened to attend the Super Bowl during Bad Bunny’s performance.
Behar said that Noem would “round up” the illegal immigrants. The hosts asked whether Noem would attend if it were someone else, such as Garth Brooks, Eminem, Taylor Swift, or any white person.
Whoopi Goldberg jokingly asked how Kristi Noem would ascertain the identity of the people at the event. Behar mentioned that the Supreme Court has permitted questioning anyone who has a Spanish accent and dark skin. Goldberg commented:
“So, here’s the thing. Everybody get a little cocoa butter, sit in the Sun, that’s the first thing. And this is the only time you can probably ever do this. Give yourself a Latin accent. Behar responded that it was a good idea.
Sharing this clip on her X, Megyn Kelly wrote:
“I hear this is racist.”
Whoopi Goldberg suggested that doing so might make it difficult for Kristi Noem to identify the illegal immigrants. Joy Behar said that when the Nazis took over, there was a country, either Denmark or Norway, where everyone wore the Jewish star so that no one could tell who was actually Jewish.
In the episode, they showed glimpses from SNL, where Bad Bunny was a guest host recently. In the SNL episode, Bad Bunny said:
“I am very excited to be doing the Super Bowl and I know that people all around the world who love my music are also happy.”
What did Whoopi Goldberg say about an incident in Chicago?
Whoopi Goldberg talked about an event in Chicago where police entered a building looking for gang members. She said they made elderly people sit on the ground and tied little kids’ hands with plastic zip ties. She felt this didn’t seem like something that should happen in America.
She also mentioned that judges were facing many threats for standing up for what’s right, but people were thankful for their courage and fairness. Goldberg added:
“I tip my hat to all those judges. I tip my hat to those governors who are standing up and it’s scary for them, too. And I beg every, every governor who recognises this for what it us. Get up and say, ‘Not in our state.’”
The host also mentioned that there were a lot of people in the National Guard, following directions. She said that it was their job, and all they did was earn their living. Whoopi Goldberg urged everyone to keep in mind that these people might not even want to be there. She suggested that one should not be afraid of them and not take one’s anger out on these guards.
