Dolly Parton’s sister calls for prayers amid the singer’s recent health concerns

Dolly Parton's new project announcements come after her reported health scare following the postponement of her Las Vegas residency.

Earlier this month, the country legend’s sister, Freida, shared a heartfelt Facebook post updating fans on the singer’s condition.

"Last night, I was up all night praying for my sister, Dolly. Many of you know she hasn’t been feeling her best lately. I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I have been lead to ask all of the world that loves her to be prayer warriors and pray with me."

Freida shared a photo of Dolly Parton appearing deep in prayer, her gaze lifted toward the sky. The "Father Along" singer's sister continued:

"She’s strong, she’s loved, and with all the prayers being lifted for her, I know in my heart she’s going to be just fine. Godspeed, my sissy Dolly. We all love you!"

Later on, Dolly Parton took to her Instagram to update her fans about her health, writing:

"I ain't dead yet!"

The country star posted a video of herself in a deep-red blouse with black lace trim along the neckline and sleeves, sitting inside a studio. The camera shifted closer, showing Dolly Parton's glowing presence. She spoke:

“I want to say something! Well, today is October 8th, and obviously, I'm here doing some commercials for the Grand Ole Opry, which is why I'm dressed kinda like a country western girl. But before I got started, I wanted to say that I know lately everybody thinks that I am sicker than I am. Do I look sick to you? I'm working hard here.”

She thanked her fans for the prayers and support, concluding her message with:

"I’m not ready to die yet. I don’t think God is through with me and I ain’t done working. So I love you for caring, and keep praying for me."
