Ever since the video of the Fast & Furious-themed roller coaster was dropped on social media platforms on Thursday, it has begun making waves already.
This much-awaited attraction is all scheduled to open and entertain in 2026. This fastest ride ever is anticipated to be an extraordinary addition to the iconic amusement park in California.

According to People, this thrilling new attraction is the world-famous park’s first-ever outdoor roller coaster. Inspired by the iconic Fast & Furious franchise, the ride brings the high-octane action of the films to life in a one-of-a-kind experience.
Universal Studios Hollywood shared enticing glimpses of the 4,100-foot-long adrenaline journey, upcoming next year, on X (formerly Twitter). The bird's eye view of the latest infrastructure spans a humongous area surrounded by California's scenic views.
The announcement post reads,
"Prepare for high-speed thrills when Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift arrives at Universal Studios Hollywood in 2026."
It further explains,
"With a groundbreaking 360-degree rotation of the individual ride vehicles as they rocket along an elaborate track, this is a roller coaster like no other."
The Hollywood Drift is set to be the fastest roller coaster installed in Universal Parks worldwide. Once operational, the record-breaking ride will reach the topmost speed of 72 mph, Deadline confirmed.
The exhilarating journey will kickstart right from the entrance point till the visitors' favorite, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
The video offers snippets of the trailblazing roller coaster twisting, climbing higher at full speed, and plunging downward in a heart-racing drop. The daring upside-down shift resembles a jaw-dropping moment.
Executive Vice President & General Manager of Universal Studios Hollywood, Scott Strobl, detailed the innovative roller coaster ride. According to Deadline, he described,
"Watching the progress of this incredible roller coaster come to life is truly spectacular. 2026 is just around the corner and we are equally as excited as our guests to introduce such an inspiring new ride to our theme park portfolio."
He further explained:
"'Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift' will be a powerful game changer for Universal Studios Hollywood that will not only transform the topography of our destination but will infuse an entirely new level of adrenaline to our already dynamic theme park. We look forward to riding it ourselves and to welcoming guests to experience it in the very near future."
On Thursday, Universal Studios Hollywood also inaugurated a swanky vehicle inspired by signature cars from the franchise. It falls under the amusement park's Mega Movie Summer celebration.
The park authorities announced the display on X, stating,
"Get your first look at the Fast & Furious ride vehicle—the Dodge Charger—on display during Universal Mega Movie Summer, starting June 13 through August 10, 2025."
Designed similarly to Dom Toretto’s 1970 Dodge Charger, this car is exhibited at the California park starting today. Fans can enjoy the full-size vehicle's tantalizing look till August 10 this year.
