A judgment has been concluded in Kim Kardashian’s 2016 Paris burglary case. Eight of the ten suspects involved in the incident have been found culpable. Some grounds include theft, sequestration, kidnapping, threat, etc. Judge David De Pas said:

“The sentences are quite lenient; they were thought of a long way away from this serious event, which impacted the civil parties. You have caused harm, even if you did not strike, if blood has not been shed, you have caused fear.”

The alleged mastermind of the group, Aomar Aït Khedache, has been given eight years of prison time, but it has been truncated by five years.

As per reports, the seven other suspects have also been given varying sentences, but they would not have to serve them as they had previously served their time.

Two other suspects have been acquitted of their charges. However, they have been asked to pay €5000 to Kim Kardashian and the hotel employee who was another victim in the robbery case.

Following the verdict, Kim Kardashian said:

“I am deeply grateful to the French authorities for pursuing justice in this case. The crime was the most terrifying experience of my life, leaving a lasting impact on me and my family.”

She went on:

“While I’ll never forget what happened, I believe in the power of growth and accountability and pray for healing for all. I remain committed to advocating for justice, and promoting a fair legal system.”

A few of the suspects extended their apologies to Kim Kardashian during the trial

According to Variety, during her May 13, 2025, testimony in court, Kim Kardashian recalled feeling certain in that moment that she was about to be s*xually assaulted and believed she was going to die, thinking it might have been a terrorist attack.

Her lawyers later shared that she was thankful for the court’s decision and appreciated how the French authorities handled the situation. They noted how far she had come since that traumatic night in 2016, commending Kim Kardashian for bravely facing the suspects in court.

They added that she was ready to move forward and continue her efforts to support victims and advocate for justice reform. Meanwhile, Yunice Abbas, one of the suspects of the incident, shared his thoughts about the verdict through his lawyer.

According to CNN, his lawyer, Gabriel Dumenil:

“It’s a very fair decision, it’s a very just decision. (Abbas) is very happy to be back with his family tonight. We’re very happy with this decision.”

Khedache’s lawyer also shared a statement with the media outlet, saying:

“I want to come to you as a human being and say how much I regret my act.”

Kim Kardashian explained to the court that the incident had a lasting impact on her sense of safety. She said she no longer felt secure in her own home and had since hired as many as six security guards. Before the incident, she and her family never felt unsafe, but everything changed after that night.

Some of the men involved expressed regret during the hearing. In response, Kardashian told Aït Khedache that she forgave him for what happened, but made it clear that the emotional pain, trauma, and the way her life had been affected could not be undone.
