Jimmy Kimmel, who was suspended earlier this from his show Jimmy Kimmel Live!, was recently reported to have also been fired from Who Wants To Be a Millionaire, but the claim has been now proven to be false.

According to US Weekly, these claims arose after the beloved host received criticism from certain quaters for comments he made regarding Charlie Kirk's death, after which it was announced by the Disney owned ABC Network on September 17 that his show was suspended "indefinately."

The decision came after Nexstar Media, one of the biggest owners of TV stations in the country, criticized the comments made by the Emmy nominated host. They later released a statement saying:

"[We] strongly objects to recent comments made by Mr. Kimmel concerning the killing of Charlie Kirk and will replace the show with other programming in its ABC-affiliated markets.”

More about the alleged rumors about Jimmy Kimmel being fired from Who Wants To Be a Millionaire

Jimmy Kimmel's suspension has drawn immense criticism and strutiny from all quaters, with many prominent celebrities, including Pedro Pascal, Ariana Grande, fellow late night host Jon Stewart, and many others, showing him support.

The new alleged rumor about Jimmy Kimmel stated that he had been fired from "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire." But that claim, which has now proven to be false, was first posted on Facebook by America's Last Line of Defense, a page with 630k followers.

In their post, the page alleged that Kimmel was fired from "Who Wants To Be a Millionaire," another ABC run show hosted by him, claiming that they even released a statement saying "Jimmy isn't the guy we want representing our company right now." The post read:

Kimmel isn't having a good week "

The page provides no evidence for its claims, and upon closer inspection, it is evident that they have a history of making similar statements without proper evidence.

According to US Weekly, at the moment his suspension from the "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" show does not affect his hosting duties for "Who Wants To Be a Millionaire."

The network has not released any statement regarding Kimmel's allgeged firing from the show, which he has been hosting since 2020 following Chris Harrison's exit in 2019. The finale for the ongoing fourth season of the "Who Wants To Be a Millionaire" is set to air next week, on Thursday, September 25.
