Jamie Lee Curtis reveals that she and Lindsay Lohan have maintained their bond over the years following their role in the 2003 movie, Freaky Friday. The duo played as mother and daughter who swap bodies in the 2003 film. Curtis and Lohan are again coming onscreen together for a sequel to the 2003 film, titled Freakier Friday.

Lindsay Lohan is a 38-year-old American actress and singer who has worked in movies like Mean Girls, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, The Parent Trap, etc. Jamie Lee Curtis, 66, is an American actress who has appeared in popular works like True Lies, Knives Out, etc. She has multiple accolades to her name, including an Oscar (for best supporting actress) for her performance in the 2022 movie, Everything Everywhere All at Once.
According to People Magazine, Jamie Lee Curtis said at the Amazon Upfront in New York City on May 12 that:
"Lindsay was 15, and as she's matured, we've stayed in contact our whole lives. I think it's important, particularly with someone who is young in the movie business, if you connect with them, you have to let them know it's real. There's R-E-E-L life, and then there's R-E-A-L life."
She further added:
"I wanted her to understand that there was a bridge and that I was real, and that she always could be real with me. And she was. Through the course of her young life, we've stayed in contact."

According to People Magazine, Jamie Lee Curtis also explained how the sequel happened.
"It was her visiting me, bringing her baby to visit me, that led to a picture of the two of us that I posted, and then the floodgate of people going, 'Oh my God, oh my God,' and then me calling Disney going, 'Hi! Lindsay's old enough to have a teenager. Let's go!' And then they did."
Jamie Lee Curtis talks about her last-minute casting in Freaky Friday
Curtis recently shared with People Magazine that she was a last-minute addition to the cast. According to the outlet, Lee Curtis shared that she only found out about her role in the movie two days before the shooting began.

According to a People Magazine exclusive, the actress shared that:
"I found out I was going to be in Freaky Friday two days before they started shooting, because someone else was in the movie and dropped out."
The 2003 film Freaky Friday follows the story of a mother and daughter who switch bodies after eating fortune cookies. Jamie Lee Curtis plays Tess Coleman, the mother of a teenager named Anna Coleman, played by Lindsay Lohan.
The 2025 sequel, Freakier Friday, happens years after the first movie, and Anne now has a daughter and a soon-to-be step-daughter. The synopsis also states that:
"As they navigate the myriad challenges that come when two families merge, Tess and Anna discover that lightning might indeed strike twice."
