David Brian Pearce, a producer in Hollywood, has been ordered to serve 146 years in prison. The sentencing, which came out on October 29, was in connection with the death of model Christy Giles and her friend Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Pearce was found guilty of murdering the two individuals. He was charged with first-degree murder, but besides that, the producer was also found culpable in s*xually assaulting several women, which also includes charges of r*pe and coercion. Nathan J. Hochman, the DA of Los Angeles, shared a statement, saying:

“This sentence delivers long-awaited justice for Ms. Cabrales-Arzola, Ms. Giles, and the courageous s*xual assault victims who came forward and testified. Not only were the victims s*xually assaulted, but the lives of Ms. Cabrales-Arzola and Ms. Giles were stolen in one of the most devasting ways — a fentanyl-induced s*xual assault by Pearce.”

Hochman thanked everyone who was involved in the prosecution. In his statement, he also stressed the dark side of using fentanyl, as he said:

“Fentanyl poisoners who harm and exploit others will be held accountable. Every prosecution and sentence like this one moves us a step closer to deterring criminals from committing these crimes and protecting others from a similar fate.”

David Brian Pearce wasn’t the only person named in the case. Brandt Osborn is the co-defendant in the producer’s case, although a new trial for him is set to begin in November 2025. Previously, the jury was unable to reach a decision in Osborn’s case. He was charged with aiding the murder.

Details about the producer’s case explored

The case goes back to 2021 when Giles and Arzola went out with producer Pearce after work. They were accompanied by Michael Ansbach. After indulging in dr*gs at some place, they went to Pearce’s apartment. There, he provided them with intoxicants, one of which included fentanyl. Later on, he took the girls to a local hospital, although not together.

As per court documents, Giles wasn’t alive when she reached the hospital. However, Arzola was there for 11 days, following which she was taken off of life support. Pearce alleged that the girls were unconscious in his apartment and he decided to take them to get medical attention. He alleged that he conducted CPR but that didn’t help much. During one of his testimonies, the producer said:

“The lifestyle that I was living at the time was not very conducive to regular behavior, if that makes sense. It was not uncommon for people to use my house as a crash pad, a party house. I know it’s horrible, but at least on a weekly basis friends were passing out at my house.”

The producer maintained that he was not guilty of the charges raised against him. As per a statement by the LA District County:

“Upon further investigation, it was discovered that Pearce committed numerous drug-facilitated s*xual assaults against multiple women spanning 2005 to 2021. All seven victims testified at trial to Pearce’s se*ual depravity and violent tendencies.”

Christy Giles’s mother, Leslie Giles, reportedly said in a statement that what broke her heart when she arrived at the hospital was that her daughter had been dropped there like garbage.
