It seems like country music singer Mark Chestnutt won't be performing soon. He called off a few of his upcoming performances. One of the shows was scheduled in Princeton’s Chuck Mathena Center. As per an update about the event:“Due to Mark Chesnutt’s recent health concerns, he must unfortunately postpone this week’s live concert in Princeton, WV, at the Chuck Mathena Center. This show will be rescheduled for Saturday, April 11th, 2026.”The statement continued:“Mark looks forward to seeing and performing for his fans when he’s back on the road. Please join all of us at CMC in sending our best to Mark as he continues to rest and recover. We can’t wait to see him take the stage here for the first time this spring. It’s going to be a great night of country music!”Mark Chestnutt became unwell earlier this month. He was about to perform at the Baton Rouge show when he was hospitalized on October 16. An update from his team later mentioned that he had a low sodium count with increased blood pressure levels. After three days, the country singer was released on October 19.According to Parade, Mark Chestnutt’s publicist, Don Murry Grubbs, shared a statement with an outlet, saying:“He’s home in Beaumont, Texas, and will see his doctor first thing Monday morning for testing comparisons. The reason behind that was not shared. An update from his team mentioned that he had to go through a medical evaluation. Again, in June 2024, Chestnutt had an emergency heart surgery. In an Instagram message, he wrote:“It is with a heavy heart that I announce the cancellation of my upcoming shows. I send my love and gratitude to my family and friends, the band and fans for your understanding, prayers and support, and look forward to seeing you all again soon at a honky tonk near you.”This year, Mark Chestnutt spoke to American Songwriter, where he revealed that he had almost died during a heart issue. When he had the surgery, he took some time off and was even under therapy. He also struggled with alcoholism, as he told the outlet:“I drank all day, every day. I’d get up in the middle of the night and drink. I’d never stop.”Chestnutt mentioned that it was normal for people to drink in those days. However, according to Chestnutt, he took it to a different level, which almost became fatal. He was once taken to the hospital, where he learnt that the condition of his organs was deteriorating.According to Mark Chestnutt's medical team, there were chances that he would regain his health. For that, he would have to stop drinking else he might not live for long. He mentioned that he wasn’t able to stop the habit.
