What is Cher's take on Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard's marriage? Music icon reflects on former co-star during podcast

Cher delivered a playful take this week after joking that Kristen Bell might have ended up with someone in a parallel universe, and not with her current husband, Dax Shepard.

Appearing on the actor's podcast, Armchair Expert, on Jan. 5, the music icon leaned into her long-standing teasing dynamic with the host while discussing Bell, her former Burlesque co-star. Dax Shepard himself is aware of Cher's impression on him, asking the Believe hitmaker:

"Who would be your dream partner for her? 'Cause I know you think she could be better, and I don't disagree."

Cher admitted that she didn't have anyone in particular she thought would look better beside Bell, but she told Shepard:

"The truth is, I trust her. So you must have something that I don't see."

Dax Shepard upheld this, pleading his case to the music legend:

"I'll tell you the thing that you should like about me. I'm not threatened by her shining. Love it. The shinier she gets, the better."

But at the end of their chat, the This is Where I Leave You actor praised Cher, agreeing with her sentiments regarding Kristen Bell.

"I adore you, and I understand nobody's good enough for her."

Cher and Kristen Bell met in 2010 after starring in the film Burlesque, alongside Christina Aguilera. At the time, Bell and Shepard were already engaged.

They married in 2013 and currently share two kids: Lincoln Bell (born 2013) and Delta Bell Shepard (2014).

During the podcast interview, the After All songstress shared her relationship with the When in Rome star.

"We got along so well, and we were very sympatico, and I respected her a lot. I didn't know who she was, but she was good."

Meanwhile, while most couples choose to keep their relationships private, Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard don't shy away from sharing insights into their marriage.

In October last year, amid the release of the second season of her Netflix series Nobody Wants This, Kristen Bell talked to People and reflected on her relationship with her husband.

"Having someone I feel that is very opposite from me is certainly something that I feel. I feel like my real-life husband and I are 'opposites attract.' But that doesn't mean we couldn't make it work, or didn't want to make it work."

In the series, Kristen Bell's character Joanne and Adam Brody's Noah enter a romantic relationship and try to work it out despite their differing beliefs and the people who are against them together.

The actress reflected on the takeaways from the show, telling the outlet:

"It just meant we did have to have a lot of patience for each other to figure out what the compromises would be, and a general understanding that we're probably going to have different viewpoints on almost everything—and figure out a respectful way to have those discussions."
