On November 7, TMZ published an exclusive report mentioning that Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was caught consuming an alcoholic drink in prison. The rapper, who is held at the Fort Dix security prison, reportedly had a drink made of sugar, Fanta, and apples. As per the outlet, the other captives in the prison prepared the alcoholic drink after letting it ferment for weeks.Authorities at the prison caught Sean, following which they initially planned to transfer him to a new unit. However, the decision was overturned. For the uninitiated, the rapper had previously written a letter to Judge Arun Subramaniam on October 2, 2025. In the letter, he sought mercy for his actions and took responsibility. Mentioning his sobriety, Diddy wrote:“For starters, I am now sober for the first time in 25 years. I have been trying my best to deal with my drug abuse and anger issues and take accountability as well as positive steps towards healing. One of the most beautiful things I have experienced is being asked by my fellow inmates to teach and mentor them. They wanted to learn what I did to become a successful business man.”Diddy went on to say:“I was inspired by their hunger and desire to learn information in order to not only set goals but achieve any goal/dream that their hearts desire. I started teaching a 6 week program called Free Game (title given by my fellow inmates), which I was able to have approved and sanctioned by the Bureau of Prisons (BOP). I don’t just teach about my success, I also teach about my mistakes and failures.” View this post on Instagram Instagram PostWhat did Diddy write about jail in his letter to Judge Subramaniam?Following the news of Diddy allegedly consuming the drink, a spokesperson for his family shared a statement with TMZ. Juda Engelmayer said that Combs' time in prison so far has been focused on working on himself. He said that since Combs is a high-profile individual, rumors and gossip were bound to circulate. According to Engelmayer, most of them had no truth. The statement continued:“We ask that people give him the benefit of the doubt, the privacy to focus on his personal growth with grace and purpose.”Meanwhile, in his letter to Judge Subramaniam, Diddy explained how he got lost in his life’s journey. He wrote that at some point, he indulged in intoxicants. However, staying in jail made him realize the power of transformation. He wrote:“Jail is designed to break you mentally, physically and spiritually. Over the past year there have been so many times that I wanted to give up. There have been some days I thought I would be better off dead. The old me died in jail and a new version of me was reborn. Prison will change you or kill you - I choose to live.”Diddy mentioned that he utilized his time in prison reading books, working on his physical health, and dealing with his anger issues, among other things. He said that he had been diligent enough to bring out the best in himself and hoped not to repeat the same mistakes.
