Dina Lohan was the recipient of a heartfelt tribute from her daughter, pop star and actress, Lindsay Lohan on Mother’s Day. Lindsay Lohan took to Instagram to share her love and gratitude for her mother, Dina. The 38-year-old Lindsay, a mother herself, posted a photograph of herself along with her mother, and in the caption, wrote,

“Happy Mother’s Day to my mom and all the amazing moms out there!! Your love, strength, and grace mean everything. Today is for you!”

Dina Lohan had been instrumental in helping start her daughter’s career. Lindsay Lohan made her screen debut at the age of 10 on television with the drama series, Another World. In less than two years, at the age of 12, Lohan made it to the big screen with the film, Parent Trap, a Disney production that was a remake of an older film of the same name.

For Dina Lohan, who raised her four children as a single mother, the success of her eldest daughter Lindsay did not stop her from supporting her younger children in following their dreams.

Dina’s younger children, Dakota and Aliana, are both budding actors, as per Art Bodega Magazine. Dina, who at present stays in the Hamptons, New York, juggles her time between the East Coast and Los Angeles, where she manages the careers of her younger children.

In an exclusive interview with OK!, Dina shared her thoughts on the close relationship she shares with all her children. She said,

“I call us the Fabulous Five! I've been a single mother for decades, and we're just so close in communication. We're on a group chat. We talk five to 10 times a day, and we're all very connected. They tell me everything, we vent, I give them advice"

Dina Lohan on inspiring other women

Dina Lohan is keen on sharing her life experiences as a woman and a mother. Recently, she became a part of the campaign ‘Kindness Is Cool,’ an initiative supported by the nonprofit organization, The Luisa Diaz Foundation which focuses on helping victims of domestic ab*se, traffi*cking, among others.

Dina, who has been vocal about her struggles as a single mother and about her troubled and ab*sive marital relationship in the past, shared her thoughts on the new campaign with People Magazine, saying,

“If one woman or anyone hears my story and it changes them, it's a beautiful thing for me…I can give advice because I've been through it.”

According to a report by The Daily News, Dina Lohan was s*xually ass*ulted by her husband in the early days of their marriage. The Daily News also reported that Dina had taken the help of her parents to file a complaint about the incident.

Dina separated from her husband, Michael Lohan, briefly a few years after they got married in 1985. Even though the former couple reconciled after a few years, they later divorced in 2007.

It was during the time of her separation from Michael that Dina raised her four kids alone as a single mother, all while striving to keep her children’s dreams alive.
