Rodeo star Spencer Wright's wife, Kallie Wright, commemorated the first anniversary of their son Levi Wright's unfortunate passing on June 2, 2025.
The toddler tragically lost his life to a toy tractor accident in June 2024. Levi drove his toy tractor into a river near his family's home in Utah and met with a life-threatening incident. He was immediately rushed to the hospital. Unfortunately, the Wright family devastatingly decided to remove him from life support after two weeks of hospitalization.
Kallie remembered her little one on this unfortunate day and expressed her feelings in a heartfelt Instagram post.
Sharing a picture of lying on the hospital bed with Levi Wright and Spencer Wright, she penned with a broken heart,
"A year ago today we held you as you took your last breaths. They said it could take a day or 2, I was so scared I wouldnt be holding you when you left and that was so important to me. You stayed with us 17 minutes. As you left an overwhelming feeling came over me & I knew we had done right by you."
Sharing her and her family's unconditional love for their baby, she further wrote emotionally,
"For me this isnt the day you fully left us but the day it became official. Levi we talk about and think of you everyday. We live for you! Our love for you is stronger than ever."
According to a report by People, the Wright family has been supporting the Levi Wright Foundation since he passed away. The foundation's Facebook intro states,
"This page started as a benefit for Levi Spencer Wright after his accident in May 2024. Now it's home to the Levi Wright Foundation where we hope to help families that face similar unimaginable situations in his memory. Thank you for being here."
Everything we know about Levi Wright
Spencer and Kallie welcomed Levi on March 24, 2021, in Cedar City, Utah. Lovingly called Beans, he was the sunshine of the family. The rodeo star paid tribute to his son and referred to him as "the funniest kid" during his funeral.
Their lives changed forever after the little one accidentally drove his toy tractor into a river on May 21, 2024. The accident happened within a moment, when Kallie left her son and headed inside their house for a short duration, Mindy Clark, a family friend, revealed.
Finding the overturned tractor, Kallie dialed 911 immediately. As CBS News reported, Levi Wright was discovered in an unconscious state around a mile from his home.
He sustained a brain injury and was hospitalized at Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City. While he was undergoing treatment, his mom kept all well-wishers updated via social media. At times, she shared news, hoping for miracles, and unfortunate results other times.
Last year on May 24, she wrote on Facebook,
"LEVI WOKE UP! I am shook, we don't know much but the doctor said it was okay for me to get excited about that and I AM! My baby is so tough! 😭😭"
She also added,
"He got a little wild so we had to settle him down again but my heart! 😭🙏🏼❤️"
Though Levi Wright showed initial signs of responsiveness, his critical condition turned severe over time. The family extensively consulted with neurologists to save their baby. However, they had to make an agonizing decision. They removed the 3-year-old from life support, and he took his last breath on June 2, 2024.
The news of Levi Wright's death stirred a debate online. The family was slammed by many for leaving the little kid unsupervised, as per The Mercury News. Many judged the parents for their parental decisions as well.
On June 6, 2024, Kallie Wright addressed the backlash that she and her family received right after losing Levi Wright. Expressing her "vulnerable and hard" feelings, she tried explaining the moment the accident occurred near their home.
She wrote:
"My kids have rode their bikes, driven their ride on toys & even walked this way a million times. Water only runs through for a short time during the year and can change over night. Levi did not do anything he hasn't done before, but this time the water was at its peak & strong enough to push his tractor off the road into the creek as he drove through. He asked me to ride his tractor and I explained that grandma wasn't home, he shouldn't drive through the creek or the road and just to ride around the house. As he drove off, I ran back in the house."
Opening up about how that decision would haunt her forever, she admitted that Levi was her "responsibility alone" at that time.
She further noted in the Facebook post,
"I'm a firm believer that our stories are written long before we reach this earth & that our Lord will take us when he's ready, I will lose sleep over this for eternity but with this I know 3 things to be true. 1. I am not a perfect mom but I am a good mom. 2. My little boy loved me with all he had. 3. Never say never because it only takes seconds and it can happen to you too. I pray anyone who judges me or has hurtful words to say never finds themself on the receiving end of a nightmare like this."
On May 12, 2025, Kallie dedicated a special Mother's Day post on Instagram for all the hurting mothers. Remembering her son, Levi Wright, and every mom who lost their precious ones, she wrote in the caption,
"Mother's Day isn't quite the same when a piece of your mama heart is missing! To all my mamas that hurt a little extra on this day, I see you. 🫶🏼"
The couple, Kallie and Spencer Wright, are also parents to son Brae and daughter Steeley.
