The incident comes only a month after Max Ehrich was arrested in Florida and taken into custody by St. Lucie County jail on Oct. 8.

Max Ehrich and Demi Lovato relationship: A glimpse into the former couple's whirlwind romance

Max Ehrich and Demi Lovato began dating in 2020 and got engaged after only four months of dating.

In April that year, the duo quarantined together amid the coronavirus pandemic at the pop star's California residence.

According to an insider, the two were "getting really serious," adding:

"The quarantine has been really great for Demi and [they] and Max have gotten so close. [They’re] doing a great job at staying sober, healthy and taking care of [themself]."

Following his proposal in July, the blissful Demi Lovato took to her Instagram to share the news with her fans, and dedicate a heartfelt message to Ehrich.

"[Max Ehrich] I knew I loved you the moment I met you. It was something I can’t describe to anyone who hasn’t experienced it firsthand but luckily you did too.."

The "Don't Forget" hitmaker continued:

"I’m honored to accept your hand in marriage. I love you more than a caption could express but I’m ecstatic to start a family and life with you. I love you forever my baby. My partner. Here’s to our future!!!!”

Max Ehrich also celebrated the moment, expressing his joy through his own page.

"Words cannot express how infinitely in love with you I am forever and always and then some. I cannot spend another second of my time here on Earth without the miracle of having you as my wife. here’s to forever baby … I’m so excited."

However, in September, the couple called it quits. According to a source, Lovato and Ehrich began "having conflicts" as they went back to work following their quarantine together.

"Demi and Max were basically together 24/7 for months. They lived in a bubble with zero stress, and everything was just fun. Now they are both working and are on separate coasts."

Another insider concurred, saying:

"Max shot up in fame, and it's been hard. He got wrapped up in [Hollywood]."

While the breakup and calling off the engagement was a "tough decision" for both Lovato and Ehrich, the former couple said they will "always cherish" their shared memories, according to another source.
